Kevin restrepo Is a con man, robber. Do not trust him he rip off me of $300. Connecticut

I had a consultation with kevin restrepo.. I wanted to 3 exhausted fan at my store. He draw out the layout, give me a great price. He said in order to start buy the materialsfor the job he need a deposit of $450 bad the total cost for the job will cost about $740. I said but as a small business owner i do all mine payment through check for paper trail. He said no checks he's not license but he work under he's dad licensed who owns Restrepo construction llc. If i pay him by check he will have to charge me more because of taxes his father will have to pay. ( i know that was crazy of me to believe him but as a business owner you always trying to save money. I had a consultation with another company a week earlier who wuoted me $1,500. Kevin quoted 740.he was very charismatic. He ensures the job will be done within a week.) At first i wasnt ok with paying by cash, but he send me an invoice with his driver license. So i felt more comfortable i gave him the $300 cash on sunday, he told me he will go purchase the material he will start the work tuesday. Tueday he never show up. I called he never aswer, i email, text, call show up to his house hes not home. Its been a nightmare!!! Why go out of your way to steal $300 when you can just do the right thing and get more jobs.
