I am writing this complaint because I am seriously contemplating filing a lawsuit against this bank, bear with me I may go on tangents but that is just how frustrated I am now. I am a part-time student and work part-time so I have a very tight budget and this bank is trying to fill any revenue shortfalls it may have off of me and those like me. I have already complained to a federal regulatory body about it, but nothing seems to have changed. This bank charges excessive overdraft fees, in excess of $ 38 and also I believe is still reordering the manner in which charges are presented to customer accounts. I just incurred a $38.50 overdraft fee on .60 cents--- Yes .60 cents. This is unjust enrichment on the behalf of this greedy second rate financial entity that dares to call itself a bank. When I spoke to their horribly rude and lazy customer service representative, she stated the "system" would not allow her to refund the fee because one had already been waived once in a 12 month period. I stated that the fee was exceptionally excessive all she stated was that "the system" cannot tell how much an account has gone negative and therefore accesses a $ 38.00 if the account us negative .01 cents. She referred me to my local branch in Kingston, NY, which did nothing except state " the system" , would not allow them refund the fee. The bank's business model is the problem, branches claim to have no power over the "system" and the service center says it answers to the branches. Thus a customer really has no recourse but to sue.

The second problem I have with this bank is that it charges customers if they call the automated system more than 8 times in a cycle (not a month). I am not always near an internet connection and need to call frequently to ensure this bank has not tacked on some crazy new fee i.e.their inactivity fee. Why am I still with this money pit? I don't know, I am applying to a credit union, but also don't like the idea of this bloated corporation feeding off young students and the poor. Anyway, back to the telephone fees, they started in April after I tried to correct a charge that was listed as recurring, but was just a small one time fee. While trying to resolve the problem an ill-mannered customer service representative treated to double a fee on my account. Since that time I have been charged each month.

Third problem with this bank: reordering of charges. Another reason I call my bank account frequently is that I have often found charges presented on the same day as a direct deposit ALWAYS come in BEFORE the credit to the account. I spoke with a representative about this, because the TIME charges are presented are not listed online a representative may tell you. I personally believe the bank processes debts first to try and get more fees. For example, I had a charge come into my bank account at 12:00am, but a credit at 12:01am and was accessed a fee. I am not saying that if the charge naturally gets to the account first there shouldn't be a fee , but I believe they delay the credit purposely in order to collect a fee.

The last issue I have with this bank is that they delay cash deposits made at the ATM in excess of $100.00 meaning if you make a $102 deposit $100 will be available immediately, but the $2 will take at least one business day to clear. I know people who have had a fees assessed to their bank accounts because it held a cash deposit at the ATM for two business days, longer then their own policy.

The bank has not always been like this It started in 2012. This bank will not correct itself. If anyone has similar experiences or knows what to do please reply.
