Kia - Connecticut Bait and switch Enfield Connecticut

Car dealers have a very hard time of it in our world. I wonder why they insist on making it harder for themselves. I have a very specific set of credit criteria that must be followed before I will lease a car. So as to not waste anyone's time or money I spell out these rules up front during the first phone call. While many dealers pulled shenanigans, I musst point out that EVERY Kia dealer I dealt with in Connecticut was particularly obnoxious.

Each quoted the internet special as the price of the car. Each attempted to get me to sign a purchase order(never filled out) and hand over a non refundable deposit. While I never signed these 'deals' I did manage to get them to begin to commit to the real price. Each and every time the required down payment more than doubled and the payment was increased at least 40%(One guy doubled it).

I asked KIa corporate to intercede and while they were pleasant enough they went on and on about how they were not affiliated with these people. How did they get their name on the door?

I am still without a new car and probably will be for some time. I would expect GM or Chrysler to behave this way as they had no problem taking tax money to bail themselves out but Kia. I guess you expect a certain amount of honor from a company based in the orient. Well they seem to have adjusted quite well to America. Shame on you KIA.

While I do have cause for a significant complaint I would prefer to use this forumn. Kia corporate willl track all complaints and might even make it harder for these folks to operate if enoughh people have a problem. It is entirely possible that I am the only one they have harmed.

My advice stay as far away from a KIA dealer as you possibly can.
