After contacting Kinetico water about filtering my water, they arrived and installed a system that was called "little to no maintenance" and functioned without electricity. I was skeptical when they necked down my 1 1/4" line to 3/4" and installed a backflush system along with in-line filter. After a few trips back to "tweek" the system, it performed rather well.

After a year, I began having pressure problems with my water and finally (on a weekend) I lost pressure completely. I put the system into "bypass" and called Kinetico and they promptly sent out their local guy> He showed up on Monday (with no one around) and performed some tasks and got my water working again but completely blindsided me with an over $400 bill. I called and complained and they adjusted a little of the charges but the matter quickly dissolved because they were not going to budge on the expense of coming up to my house to "fix' this problem..

Almost a year to the day later, the same problem developed and here they came (again with no one home) and performed their little task and promptly left an 0ver $500 charge. I complained to their corporate through e-mail and they forwarded this to the local guy (Archie Thomas) and he just described the problem with the type of water I have along with the soil around the well would constantly be a problem with their system and that $40 a month for maintenance was a pretty good deal. I have since pulled this $2400 system that I bought out-right and replaced it with a culligan system. Kinetico refused to budge on permanent fix solution.

System failed 3 years after install due to well produced silts not present when system designed

AUTHOR: Archie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 22, 2009

The well water treated by this system changed 0 to 3 years after installation producing fine silts which plugged filter media. Owner was made aware of this condition & advised about best course of action, no action was taken. The replacement system will fail in the same manner unless this silt condition is addressed. This system was designed to remove iron from a silt free well water. Complete documentation has been provided to owner on a on going basis.
