Kirby Sales Job. 177 Madison Ave

Loveland, CO 80537. Cheyenne Distributing, INC. Distribution # 7825
Some Times they rent office space in other towns. (Denver, Boulder, Longmont, Greeley, Fort Collins)

First off, the Kirby it self is a good product. However it's over priced for most people.
Standard System price: $2,695 + Tax    Premium (attachments) System price: 3,111.25 + Tax
It cost Kirby less than <$1,000 to make the Standard System. So the 'Boss' can make a profit.

They usually use Craig's List to advertise a job that pays $2,000 (2K) a month. But the Craig's List ad will never tell you what it is for. You will have a 1 week training period that will seem easy. It is only a couple hours a day. During the training they will tell you how to use to sell/use the Kirby.

You will have a Friends and Family weekend the first weekend for 3 days Where you will be able to take the vacuum home and clean your house for free. The first day will be consumed with you cleaning your house, so you have 2 days left to show your friends and family. During the 3 day friends and family If you show the vacuum to 12 people you get a free kirby 30 days later, only if you keep working for them for 30 days. Unfortunately it's harder than it seems to get all 12. And they have to be ALL SEPARATE showings. Showing 3 people at once only counts for 1.

During this training period they claim you work 40 hrs a week, for a monthly pay check of $2,000.
But actually work days are from 9:00am/10:00am - 8:30pm/11pm with NO Lunch Breaks, No Dinner Breaks, No Bathroom Breaks. Your only sanctuary is hoping someone let you in to show your demo. Then hopefully you can use that person's bathroom.

At 10am you will be stuffed in an over crowded mini van. 6 people in a van that comfortably sits 4.5 people. Insuring No one but the driver can use a seat belt. You will be walking door to door all day till a minimum of 8:30pm But if one of the people start a showing at 8:30, you keep going door to door till they are done. A demo last an average of 2 hours, ranging from 1.5-3 hours. So if one person starts a demo at 8:15 you will be knocking on doors till 10:15, and while knocking on doors if someone else get a demo at 9pm you would be out till 11pm. Warning, people will hate you more the later past 9pm you knock on doors.

You are required to work Saturdays, but if your lucky you might have off Sunday some times.

You will knock on average of 50 houses before someone answers you. The majority of people who answer the door want nothing to do with you, and are upset you're interrupting their life. 1 out of 30 people who answer the door however have nothing to do, so they might let you in. 1 out of 5 people you show it will want to buy it. However out of those people who want to buy it, only 1 out of 4 can afford it, or qualify for high interest credit. So it's not as easy to sell one than it seems.

So you will work on average 70+ hours for $2,000 (minimum wage, if you're lucky)
with No Lunch Breaks, No Dinner Breaks, No Bathroom breaks.

However If you sell More than 15 vacuums a month you can make commission on it.
You will not get a paycheck for 30 days. Unless you can sell a vacuum to someone who pays for it all at once, or has AAA credit. Then you can expect to be paid a small amount of your monthly pay in two weeks from when you start, about $400. They will pay you, but only if you show a 60 demos, you don't need a sale. But if you haven't shown enough demos in a month they won't pay you.

The only reason to be okay with this minimum wage job is to earn a free Kirby. It's hard to earn it through the normal commission. Your best bet is to earn it during the Friends and Family weekend, don't waste time cleaning your own house, you can clean it later with a real bag, they won't let you use a vacuum bag.

This job has a high turn around rate. Most people quit early. So you either work there for 6 weeks or 6 years. If you can handle selling door to door and don't mind getting insulted by strangers, than this job is okay if you know what to expect.

During the very first day they will ask you what you think you can reasonably show to friends. Say you don't know very many people. So you can probably only show 1 person, but you will try for 2, try not to say higher than 3. They add up that total of the whole 'class' of around 5 or so people. At the end if the whole class shows a combined total higher than the first total, then they will take the class out to dinner.
