I read a "rip-off" report by a user named "Shell" out of Flora Home, FL. Her experience was very similar to mine that I had this past weekend.
A young man came to my door telling me that they had just "opened" a new "cleaning supplies" store and told me the location. He stated that they were in our neighborhood to demo a new cleaning agent and that I could get one room with carpet shampooed free" and it would only take approximately 20 mins.
I was willing to allow that since my carpet in my den could use a cleaning. He put my name on a list and said that there would be another person coming to do the work shortly and he left.
About 10 - 15 mins. later, another young man came to the door with this huge Kirby box and proceeded to carry on with his "demo".
My carpet was never shampooed....only a small 5' x 6' area was thoroughly vacuumed. This young man was actually very nice and polite. But, still a salesman. He definitely wanted to sell me this vacuum system and offered it for a "discounted price" of $999.99. I told him #1 with the way the economy was at this time that I would not make such a purchase and #2 that I do not need a vaccum cleaner...AND that he does know that he was actually in my home under false pretenses.
He still was very polite and actually embarrassed at my last statement.
He called his "ride" to come pick him up which showed up about 20 mins. later in a van. I read several posts on here about this type of expierence in regards to the sales side and customer side.
This is a very devious plan to get in your home...BEWARE!!! Also, I went to the location where I was told the "new cleaning supplies store" was located and.......nowhere to be found!!!

Wow #1, sounds like you know the author personally. Not really. You are, in fact, an idiot. If you had ever experienced how long and boring a kirby "demonstration" is, you wouldnt be spewing anything out of your big mouth. They try and rip people off every single day. They dont deserve anyone's time. Maybe you should think before you start firing off that s**t cannon of yours. K thanks.

I agree with NOWHERE TO BE FOUND- My response is to The rebuttal of the orginal report on Kirby Vac sales/scams -which by the way must be a man-needing to be "entertained" - and a door to door sales person trying to protect "His right to sell door to door".- First of all if I am watching an infomercial-Shamwow or Tony Little in my home that is my bussiness-If Kirby Vac sales put an ad on TV I would watch them too-- but they dont want to pay the big bucks .. Second of all Tony Little and Shamwow people are not physically coming into my home under false pretenses and I can turn them off at anytime-- But people who want to sell or do a demo in my home need to be on the up and up and not come in under false pretenses--
I think you have missed the whole point here-and the whole point is "its in my home under false pretenses"!!- Besides if you are a sales person and would lie about having a cleaning supply store what else would you lie about-- not the type of people I would want to do bussiness with period - The morgues are full of trusting people who have opened their door to those who who lie. I wont be one of those unfortunate people- you 'll have to get past the dogs and the gun first. :D

your ridiculus do you know how many thousands of people a day across the country....scratch that, WORLD have that same experience. its called a demonstration! you complain about this while ordering your second shipment of shamwow and excercising on your tony little gazelle. it makes no sense?
someone gives you a demo you dont have to beat the crap out of them enjoy their company end of subject
