My boyfriend just went through all the things that I have read in these reports. Started the first day with "training" did his first weekend of demostrations, and finally got the bat in the face about the pay and that he was "an independent contractor" not an employee.
I had read on report where the gentleman had tried to contact the labor department about this matter. I tried to get information on the site, but remembered what the gentleman wrote about the Labor Dept not being able to assist his as Kirby did not recognize him as an "employee".
But, I have a question. I saw their employment advertisement in the paper today and I believe I may have caught the "loop hole" all of these people need to get help.

I believe the the statement "....for full time positions..." That would draw a person to believe that this is an advertisement for an employee....not a subcontractor. I appears to me that this is fraudulent advertisment, wasting people's time thinking that they are applying for a full-time position as an employee. The pay is $400 a week plus bonuses.
How many of you "duped" salemen were lured by a similar advertisement?
By the way, after seeing the vacuum, I am impressed and yes it does sell itself but the Kirby Corporation should be ashamed of themselves for allowing these companies to conduct business like they do, unfortunately a great product is being over shadowed by the bad reputations of "crooked" distribution companys out to make a buck on the people that are working for them.
