Our teen was interested in finding out more about a local gym. We took a tour of the facility and the sales person tried to get us to sign a 2 yr. contract.

Our child had been accepted to a college in another state in the fall. The sales person assured me that we could cancel if there wasn't a facility within a 25 mile radius of the school. The sales person checked it out and showed me a list of locations. They also showed me a paragraph in the contract the said that if a student relocates to an area where there is not a facility within a 25 mile radius that all you need to do is provide proof from the school that the child is enrolled there. I did so and got another bill. I called the 800 number and was told I need a another proof of my child's enrollment. And on and on and on. They kept billing me and putting me off. It's been 2 years of HELL and they have billed me up until I changed bank accounts for another reason a few months ago and they are threatening to ruin my credit.

They have misled me into signing a contract and have harrassed me, even screamed at me on the phone. Please stay away from anyone using ASF International.

ASF International follows requirements outlined in member agreements

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 05, 2008

I am sure that the Knuckle Up representative did not deceive this customer when they signed the agreement. A member can cancel if they move away for college. However, ASF International needs to receive the appropriate proof of move. In this case, I would imagine that the appropriate proof was never sent to us. Appropriate proof would be a "dorm room assignment", or if they are living off campus, a "rental lease". I would be able to answer this more accurately if Ripoff Report would require people who complain to provide their complete name.

Also, I would like to address two other issues that "Lance" brought up. First, he states that we have threatened his credit. ASF International does not report to credit bureaus and therefore, has no reason to threaten any individual's credit. Second, "Lance" states that our customer service representatives scream at him over the phone. We have very strict quality assurance guidlines here at ASF International, and if a customer service represnetative is not meeting our quality assurance requiremnts they are terminated. Obviously, raising their voice and not being completely professional would be detrimental for an employee of ours.
