Kost Tire And Muffler deceptive business practices Liverpool New York

In July 2007 I brought my car into Kost Tire to have brake work done. The work cost over four hundred dollars. Shortly before that I was also in to have a muffler system put on at a cost of three hundred and thirty eight dollars.

Two weeks later I brought the car into a trusted local independent mechanic for an unrelated problem. When he got it up on the lift,he told me that the frame was so rusted out it was unsafe to drive. He then noticed the recent work done by Kost and was shocked that they had even done the work as it was obvious that the frame was in such bad shape.

He was even more suprised to find out that they had not even mentioned the cars condition and they had also wanted to do more work on the brakes that I had declined at the time. The mechanic did not work on my car as he said it should not even be on the road and couldn't effectively be repaired. I ended up having to scrap the car.

On August thirteenth I wrote a letter to Dave Kost, head of the retail division.I explained everything that had happened and didn't ask for any compensation. I just wanted to make him aware of what might be happening to more customers than just me at that store.I also let him know that after going there for several years for oil changes and such,I would no longer give them my business. To date I have never heard a word from Dave Kost or anyone else from the Kost Corp.
