This is about a cruise I won through a radio station (KPLM) here in Palm Springs. I filled out a form asking me what date I would like to go, along with certified cashiers check for $50.00, to Odenza marketing.
I received a letter back acknowledging they have received my registration and funds for the promotional opportunity. they also state in the letter that I would have to register on-line, a second time. I have to give another 90 day notice.
I received an e-mail back from Lydia from Odenza. she stated she only has a Florida departure and if I wanted to leave from Long Beach I could upgrade to the 4 night cruise for an additional $605.30.
I went to Carnival website and found I could get a 4 night cruise cheaper than a three night I have been in contact with the radio station and Odenza marketing in the past, but they both have stop all contact with me.
There was a total of 30 cruises that were given away, one of my friends also won one of them and is having problems with them. Beware of vacation giveaways from KPLM and Odenza Marketing.

Yes it is a scam, I won this trip the only charges that should apply are the taxes. It was a bait and switch scam.
I had a friend that also won the same cruise was rip off too!
I tell all of my friends and customers to stay away from Odenza.

Definitely right to be suspicious and upset. First, on behalf of Odenza we do apologize for any inconveniences you had gone through at that point in time.
In the last 2 years Odenza has reinforced our customer service commmitment and travel support. We also continue to build positive business partnerships and relationships with travel suppliers and buyers to resolve or eliminate concerns from past endevours.
The nature of pomotional travel and travel agencies is that dates are based on availability and open allotments, which of course sometimes tend to be limited during peak seasons and weekends - depending on the supplier.
The 90 days notice protects the customer from being charged for cancelations or any changes before their departure date (travel agency policy).
If you are a price hunter, keep in mind that travel offers online only indicate the base price and do not include government fees, port charges, fuel surcharges etc. or any other fees not visible upfront.
My recommendation is to review all documentaion given to you in the future by any company, read their terms and conditions, and take the time to call or email customer service representitives to explain how it works.
If you are still in doubt, visit www.odenza.com and view our travel testimonials page of past certificate holders.
