Kristian Walters had a craigslist ad up for 4 Golden State Warriors Tickets for sale for $1,000 total.  When I contacted him about the tickets he told me he had them and we spoke about pricing for them. We agreed to the $1,000 total and then proceeded to talk about the process.

He then proceeded to contact me through FaceTime where we spoke and he told me about how he lived in Reno, was a computer programmer, and used to live in the Bay area.  He told me he moved becasue it was a better lifestyle for his family in Reno with the costs of the Bay area.  He told me he was a season ticket holder.

Once I spoke to him on Facetime and texted a few more details, we decided on the transfer through Venmo. His name under the Venmo account was posted as Kristen Walters.  I did do a quick search for Kristen Walters, and didn't find anything alarming, or at all.  Since we spoke on FaceTime I trusted him.  Was I wrong on that.

I asked him to email me the tickets through the season ticket holder program and then send me the hard copies for keepsakes.  He sent me a Venmo money request and we completed the transfer.

After about an hour I still hadn't received the tickets so I contacted him again and he told me his Dad was the ticket holder and he would need to send them to em after work.  This is when I started to get suspicious.  I looked online and finally came across the ripoff report stories, and the pictures that matched.  I also looked at the Venmo accoutn and he had created it the same month of our transfer.  That should have been a red flag but I didn't look before hand.

When I didn't receive the tickets that night I contaacted him the next morning and asked for the tickets right then or the money. From there more excuses and reasons why the tickets or money could not get back to me, from his Dad having the tickets to him flying across country so not having access to internet.  I have at this point told him to send my money back through Venmo or I will post this report.  It is now 4 days later and have still not received the money.

Next step is creating a police report.  I did tell him if I receive my money back I will amend this report.

Be careful of this person.  I would never imagine someone who is scamming me actually calling me via FaceTime to discuss the deal.  Seems trustworthy, but anything but.  Also, I would be careful using Venmo with people you don't know.  This was my first experience, and not a good one.
