We purchased a home that sits behind this Kroger. About 6 weeks after we moved in, hot weather came and the compressors on the store got very loud. The noise increased as time went by and in June we began writing and calling and asking for a solution. We actually found a solution that is not very expensive - a few thousand dollars at most - wrapping the compressors in materials designed specifically for this problem.

The problem is - the noise is so loud and constant 24 hours a day. We hear the noise inside our home - a constant hum or rattling. We cannot be in our yard without having to speak over the noise. It is a constant noise problem. We are in a neighborhood with at least 14 homes impacted by this noise, although we are the newest homeowners in this community and thus far have raised the loudest noise. Each of these homeowners indicated that any person visiting their home comments on the noise.

We met with a few members of Kroger Corporate Atlanta and at first they told us they were pricing options to help with the noise. Now they say they don't legally HAVE to do anything so they won't.

This noise is not a small problem, it is causing headaches, it creates vibrations throughout our home, there are all kinds of stress factors created by constant noise like this. The crazy thing is that we presented them with a document which included companies who specialize in solutions for these problems so we know that there are several easily implemented solutions - low cost, easy implementation - huge help for neighbors (us!) and still nothing gives them enough incentive to actually do anything.

You have your own solution

Considering you moved in after the store had already been there, it is not Kroger's problem at all. It's like the geniuses who move in next to an airport, or military base, then complain about the noise.

Brilliant!

Since the solution to YOUR problem is only a few thousand dollars, you won't mind ponying up the money to solve YOUR problem.
