We advised the Kumon Center of Pompano Beach, Florida that our child would be away for the summer, and would not be attending Kumon during this period. The center immediately charged the monthly fee of $230.00 for June 2016, and refused to issue a refund of the amount. Tania Mauro is the program director and one of the owners who refuses to refund our money. There is nothing that we were ever provided that says they need a 30-day cancellation notice. No other Children's learning center requires any cancellation notice. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS SCAM IF YOU TAKE YOUR CHILD OUT OF KUMON. DO NOT GIVE KUMON YOUR CREDIT CARD. SAVE YOURSELF THIS HASSLE. Hi Mrs. Alexandra,
We have Dylan's June work prepared in Pompano.
Unfortunately, we don't give refunds because our policy requires 30 days notice of discontinuation. It would not be fair to the other families. The only thing I can do, as a courtesy to you, is give you credit for one month upon your return in the Fall.

I received a call from Roberto, a director and owner of the Kumon in Pompano Beach, Florida this afternoon. He explained the reason for the Kumon 30-day cancellation policy. He explained that his greatest interest as a Kumon owner is to provide the tools to children through the Kumon plan which enables them to be successful in school. I was quite impressed with the information he provided to me. He offered me to keep my son Dylan in Kumon and to either refund my money, or apply it to the next month. Roberto cares tremendously about the success of his Kumon students. He wants parents to commit to their child's academic success. I discovered that Kumon is Roberto's passion, and that he is not solely interested in the profits from the franchise.
Make no mistake... MY CHILD DYLAN HAS IMPROVED HIS SCHOOL ACADEMICS BECAUSE HE IS ENROLLED IN KUMON. I don't have any financial interest in writing this response to my own complaint. While I did have a dispute with Kumon about my refund, I NEVER HAD ANY DOUBT THAT THE MONEY I SPENT ON KUMON IS A BARGAIN FOR THE RESULTS THAT I HAVE SEEN FROM THE KUMON EDUCATION CENTER.
Thank you Roberto for your flexibility in resolving my issue with Kumon. I will continue to highly recommend Kumon of Pompano Beach, FL for anybody who wants to give their child the competitive edge necessary to excel in school.
