Lies, Lies, and more Lies....
More people are aware of your business tactics.. The idea that you threaten to defame indie artists, when you do not have a leg to stand on is a shame!!
I know that for a fact that you nominated someone with 5 nominations, and removed him after he refused to do the sponsorship deal. Before you removed him, he had a lot people vote for him, including me. I emailed you and asked you where my voting money went and you never replied. So, you stole my money and you never refunded to the person in question. All of this documented. I am a successful Artist and you are only trying to rationalize your scamming behavior. I really don’t care how long you have been in the business, but your tactics are false and misleading. I proved this to you in a series of emails. You decided to start a business, you can’t and should not depend on the artist to fund your business venture!! Go to a bank and get the money!! But to prey on independent artists is disgusting!! You mentioned that you don’t go after the artists, but their team???? That is false and I can prove it, from the countless of emails you sent to hound the artists for more money. I have emails from other nominees that would say the same. I know one of the artists that won in the past years, that person told me that they had to spend a ton of money to get their award. An artist should win an award based on their musicality, performance, etc.. Why should anyone have to pay for their award?? I have been to your nominee event, and all you do is bad mouth the other awards shows, by saying “You started this first, and that you are the best??? Wrong, if you were the best, you would keep your mouth shut, and just people how good you are. You even posted on your Facebook page, that someone made a comment that someone stated that no one comes to your shows anymore. So, people are becoming more aware of your money pressure tactics. I have spoken to some of your sponsors, they say they will never work with you again, because you harassed them for more money!! They emailed me to give me that info. No other award show, that I am aware of, harasses the nominees for money. I forgot to mention the fact that for years you never mentioned to any of the nominees of any of the additional fees associated with nominations. It was I, that told you it was false and misleading and that when I mentioned that to you, you became very nasty with me. Enough is enough. You want to prove you are the best, put your money where your mouth is..Get sponsorships for the awards show with real businesses and use your own d*** money.

You Bet I Could Sue!!
AUTHOR: - ()
SUBMITTED: Friday, March 13, 2015
I could sue for false and misleading advertising. Remember I have a copy of what the website use to say. I could sue for stealing my money and have a class action suit against you for the money not given back to the nominee that was given 5 nominations and the fact that some of those nominations were removed from the nominee without telling that person. Where did the money for the votes go? I voted for that person several times. I should get my money back for the votes on my own my own nominations, since you told me and someone else that we were banned from all events, because we simply asked the nominees how they felt about the $179 fee that was never mentioned on your website. I can assure that if we had wanted to attend (since we were nominees and our names were still on the site, and had tickets, you would not have been able to ban us. I asked about the voting money and never received a reply. This is not about bashing the LA Music Awards. This is about letting people to be aware of what is truly involved in submitting to the LA Music Awards. I am simply speaking the Truth and I can back it up. So, to your answer your question, YES, I COULD SUE FOR SEVERAL REASONS. If you were truly upfront with everything from the beginning you would not have several people other than myself, complaining about the way you conduct yourself.

No Grounds to Sue Anyone
AUTHOR: Rockwildmusic - (USA)

There are no grounds to sue Al Bowman or the LA Music Awards. Whether or not you agree with the way things are done or not, that is a matter of personal opinion. The $179 buys the tickets that you are able to turn around and sell. Some of us were able to profit off of them. No one has stolen money from anyone. It is sad that a personal opinion can lead to a person posting negative comments on this site and make an attempt to destroy a program that has been a great opportunity for many arists. The attempt to defame the LA Music Awards holds more water to be sued, in my personal opinion. So, if I were to win an award this year, I am sure it would be said that it is a fix, just because I am sticking up for the LA Music Awards. Smh.....

Al Bowman BULLIED me TOO in the 2014 Los Angeles Music Awards
AUTHOR: Limo Drivers Anonymous - (NY)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2015
After I respectfully declined his sponsorship offer (or should I say "payment to him") he withdrew TWO of the nominations I had received as punishment! WHAAAAAT??? Then, when I refused to BUY tickets for one of his shows he sent out an e-mail to ALL the nominees and their representatives embarrassing those who did NOT want to participate! THAT BORDERLINES "DEFAMATION"! THEN.....he accused ME of using that e-mail list (that HE sent to all of us) to defame him! REALLLLLY??? WHAT PARANOIA!!! Then, after his BIG FINAL show BOMBED he sent me another message accusing ME of sabotaging that show! Again....WHAAAAAT? He was so sure that I must have been behind his failures that he procliamed that I was "OFFICIALLY BLACKLISTED". What a PSYCHOPATH!!!! What I'm blacklisted from I still haven't figured that out...LOL!!!
NOBODY needs charlatans like Al Bowman to throw a party and hand out cheaply framed pieces of paper. Simply upload your (or your band's) music and videos onto the internet and obtain millions of views and fans for a fraction of the price... ; )
How does that song go? "The internet killed the slime ball promoter..."

Maybe I am not Speaking English!!

Hmmmmm???? Maybe you didn't read my answer right??!! Maybe you don't understand english!! Al Bowman is a scammer and a thief. It's funny how you did not say anything about the fact that he stole my money???But you keep playing this game that I will never play....kissing %&*^!!! No matter what you say, I know the Truth and several others know the truth about Al Bowman. I was there at the first event and he made some derogatory comments about the asian woman that was carrying the certificates. "Something about the Asian persuasion??" At the first event, no one paid attention to the speakers, it took forever to get into the event, all the nominees had to pay for their own tickets, even though it stated on the site that all nominees were allowed in for free. Again the $179 per event for 20 tickets was never stipulated on his website. Meaning that when he asked the nominees to pay it, legally they really didn't have too. See, there is thing called "False and Misleading adversting." Look it up!! You can't force anyone to pay that fee, if you did not mention it before anyone submitted their music to LA Music Awards. So, when I stated that I would not pay it, I got a scathing email from Al, which I am happy to share on this site. Just to show you and everyone else the type of man that Al Bowman is. When I mentioned the aspect of "False and misleading advertising," he proceeded to mention it to the others that would be submitting their songs.
Now, you have opened a wonderful box. You see now, this gives the opportunity for those that paid the $179 per event, to sue and get that money back. I actually copied the entire website, before he changed it. I can send that to anyone that paid those fees, and if they wanted to sue him they could and would win. Again, I can also point and send to anyone, and post here the fact that he harrassed a teenager for $5,000 to perform and pay for sponsorship. This person didn't have the money, was only working a part time job. Lets also talk about the guests he promised at the events. I was told that all of them did not show up, and in an email that sent, Al stated to someone that he cannot guarantee that these stars will show up. However, he promotes it like they will. False and misleading advertising. He does not promote the artists in any shape or form. See I contacted some of the winners and they told me just that. You seem to think that you know about awards shows, but you really don't. No other award shows, and I have done extensive research on this, has ever asked the VOTERS TO PAY TO VOTE!! LA MUSIC AWARDS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES THAT, SO THEY CAN FUND THE AWARDS SHOW, BECAUSE THEY REALLY DON'T HAVE THE CAPITAL TO DO SO!! Iput that in caps, because you seem to not understand!! The LA Music Awards takes advantage of indie artists and harrasses them. How do you think that the LA Music Awards is funded?? It is based on harrassment to some local business sponsors and the false promises and fear tactics that Al Bowman places on the Indie Artists. I have proof, what proof do you have of his "Greatness???"" You don't know him. I do. I was also friends with Al on Facebook at one point, but I had to delete him, because of the ignorant things he would say about women, blacks,etc.. I have copies of those too.
I have done extremely well without Al. So, will alot of people.
Contact me if you need more info.

SoundCheck International - GREAT Experience with LA Music Awards
AUTHOR: Buck - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2015
I have seen a few negative responses regarding The LA Music Awards and I just had to put my two cents in on the conversation. I am not sure of the experiences others may have had with The LA Musicd Awards, but the expereince that my company has had with Al Bowman and people within The LA Music Awards was very positive.
As an artist management company that has handled many regional and national artists all over the globe, and has gotten record deals with major record labels for many artists, I can only state my personal experience with LA Music Awards and Al Bowman.
My agency has had a number of artists nominated by LA Music Awards in the past few years. And most recently, We The Ghost was awarded 'Musical Group of the Year" last year at the 2014 LA Music Awards. Winning the award has opened a TON of doors for the band! If any award is used properly, and is used as a heavy marekting tool, it can help an artist leaps and bounds in this industry. I have been in this industry for over 20 years and know the inportance of artists wininng awards. Once an artist wins an award, they must then capitalize on the opoortunities. It takes a lot of marketing and effort to use any awatrd to its full potential. And it's not just about "winning" the award, it is also valuable to even be "nominated". A simple nomination shows many in this industry that your band is ahead of many others trying to make it. Winning is great, but even a nomination is priceless!
My personal experience with Al Bowman and the people with The LA Music Awards has been a great one! Al Bowman was always upfront, honest, and there were never any surprises. Yes, my artists (and I have a number of them) had to get their fans to vote for them online for a fee. That is understandable and it's the way it's done in most other awards shows. And yes, there are usually fees for tickets to the events. Again, that is pretty "standard" in this industry. And yes, the Awards Show is always looking for sponsors and asks artists if they have any sponsors that would want to jump in on the events. That too, is very common on these types of shows. But I must add, We The Ghost won 'Musical Group of the Year' in 2014 and we did NOT have a sponsor, nor did Al tell us we "had to" have a sponsor to win. We won by marketing the online voting to our fans on our mailing lists, marketing on Facebook, and at all shows we encouraged all fans to go online and vote for us. It was VERY hrad work, but it's what you have to do to win something like this. We devoted many many hours in getting people to vote for us. Voting, shows the awards shows that you are popular and "deserving" of the award.
Like I stated, after winning the award, it was then time to use it for our new marketing. And I can honestly say that winning the award was instrumental in We The Ghost landing a huge record deal. It also opened a ton of doors in getting the band for a tour in Europe, and other high paying performances in various cities.
We are very fortunate, and worked very hard to get people to vote for us, and it paid off. And the benefits after winning, has been a MAJOR factor in the recent success of the band.
I have had other artists win awards at the LA Music Awards, but I only wanted to report the most recent one after seeing all the feedback online concerning this awards show. Just like anything in life, some people have a bad experience, and some people have great experiences. Ours was great!
Instead of bashing an award show that has helped the future of some of my bands, and THOUSANDS of other artists throughout the entire U.S, I want to THANK The LA Music Awards, Al Bowman, and all the others that help make this event happen. We are grateful!

Let Me Say it Again!!!
AUTHOR: - ()

If you may say that you did not have to pay to play, but I know many that had to pay to play, because LA Music Awards hounded and promised the nominees so many things. If you start a business, you should not depend on the nominees to keep your business alive. Seek the money for sponsorships from businesses not the artists. As I stated before, I voted for a nominee several times in a certain category. This person was in five categories in the beginning, then removed when he would not shell out $5,000 towards sponsorship. He was never told that he was removed, he noticed it. So, where did the money go that I invested in the artist? Where did the money go that he used to vote and many others. I never got that money back nor did he. So, my money was stolen from me. LA Music Awards at the time that I submitted never stated that once you were a nominee that you had to pay for your own ticket and buy $20 worth of tickets ($179). You had to pay this amount for each event. Three events in total. How does this help the Indie Artists? How do you call this support?? We were suppposed to get into all of the events for free. That never happened, we all had to pay to get into the events!! Lies, after lies, after lies. Al Bowman himself, stated at one of the events that I attended, that artists should pay to play. I was there, at least 50 other people heard that. He has hounded his own sponsors as well. Many whom will never work with him again. The fact that the LA Music Awards never mentioned the $179 fee for each event to each nominee, is called false and misleading advertising!! He only added it, after we had many back and forth emails. LA Music Awards could be sued for that. LA Music Awards is a business!!! It takes advantage of the artists!! It puts pressure on the artists, scare tactics, etc.. But they made one mistake, I am afraid of nothing. I will not be taken advantage of, and I will neve let any other artists be taken advantage. I have all the written back up, to back my claims. Do your research, contact some of the other nominees from 2014 and you will see what they think of LA Music Awards and how they were treated.

My LA Music Awards Experience
AUTHOR: Rockwildmusic - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, March 10, 2015
Wow! Let me first say that I was just searching online to see if I could find some videos of this past years LA Music Awards events. I was appalled, when I had come across the negative comments, regarding Al Bowman and the LA Music Awards. In 2013, I was the Solo Performer of the Year and had gotten an award for this. Never in my dealings, had I experienced any negativity. The award was won, based on votes and artist popularity. As a nominee, the artist is required to purchase 20 tickets, below the cost of what they can be sold for. Al Bowman had also thrown in about 5 extra tickets to sell. It isn't very hard to give away or sell 20 tickets to the Whisky-A-Go-Go, which is sold out.
I was offered the opportunity to get sponsorship and play at the main event, which would have been a tremendous opportunity and great opportunity for further publicity and exposure. However, I was unable to participate on that level, at the time. Based on me not being able to, I hadn't experienced any negativity from the producers of the awards. As a matter affect, my participation in the events had led to many contacts and opportunities, that had stemmed from the marketing, through the events. The winning of the award had opened the eyes of many to "BROBST". Al Bowman had even contacted me, before the main event, to let me know that I was chosen to be featured on the 2013 LA Music Awards Best Compilation. Did I pay for this???? NO!!! I sure did not and would not. This was done, because they had believed in my music.
I hadn't had the opportunity to meet Susanna Griffie in person. However, I had dealt with her on the telephone, as well as through emails. She was sweet and honest about everything. I do hope that I will be nominated and win and award for the 2015 LA Music Awards. Please remember the saying that "A horse can be led to water. However, it is up to them to drink". In this business, no one owes you anything. Utilize what you have and take the opportunities that present themselves. If you are a nominee and lucky enough to win an award. Promote the hell out of it! DO NOT slam other people, when you don't know how business is supposed to work. The money that is brought in from the sponsorships is used to put on the events. Where would the money come from, of these opportunities weren't available? For anyone that is unsure about the LA Music Awards, please feel free to contact me directly.
