I have been unable to work fulltime without developing horrible symptoms of fatigue for a long time. So I took 6 months off to work part time and try and narrow down what in my system is causing problems.
My doctor found Lymes disease and when the symptoms didn't subside, ordered a test once a month, for two months without explaining that these would most likely be out of pocket for me.
Imagine my displeasure when I recieved $3300 worth of medical billing from Labcorp - remembering that I have been put of work.
The bill that my insurance company paid partially (I only get $500 for diagnostics too) had a $1500 discount (75%) so I asked why the insurance company was billed at such a lower rate.
The guy on the phone explained that as the insurance companies are such good customers, they get a better discount than individuals.
I explained that I am only making $200 per week and could he please come up with a discount. He offered me $1400 off from $3300 which is 40%. When I asked him about some of the pricing he hung up on me point blank.
Realizing that the billionaire insurance companies are getting a much larger discount than me, I also decided to look up a site called Medical Blue Book. I started running the pricing for each test and Labcorp is on average 500% over market value for every single blood test.
I don't know how I am going to proceed as no one seems to want to take responsibility here, but I think it's disgusting to prey on sick people & I will pursue this until I get a fair price for the services offered.

You have not a clue do you?? Your DR has no idea about how much a third party company charges. Your research is flawed. Healthcare companies use a CDM which is a coded instrument that is entered into their data bank of how much is charged for every procedure done therefore if you had no health insurance then you had the right to deny these tests.
As for your discount crap = this company is not a car lot! You did not have to take these tests! There is no company in the USA who makes billions of dollars as far as I know so please provide your proof.

your points have no validity wahtsoever. Only if the customer knew in advance which lab the samples were going to, and also agreed to the pricing would it make sense.
labcorp and all others work in a way that the customer has no way of knowing in advance what he is going to be charged. like going into McDonalds and getting billed 200 dollars for a BigMac. They would then offer to take it down to 50, and call you a scammer if you dont pay.

Here you are complaining and demanding that other ppl take responsability for YOUR medical issues. Now you DEMAND fair pricing. Guess what it aint gonna happen. Im surprised they gave you a discount.
It is neither their responsability or place to care about your personal situation outside of the scope of your tests. YOU made the descion to go to that doctor.
YOU made the descion to have the tests done.
YOU choose to continue going to that doctor.
Its the doctor who choose WHERE to send the tests. THAT doctor is the one who screwed you. These other ppl are just a labratory that does what they are asked and expects FAIR compensation for the work that they do. For you to sit there and CRY and COMPLAIN that you have to pay it shows you to be the scammer.
YOU ARE CHOOSEING TO SCAM THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Its obvious that youre getting your information off of the Internet. Im also betting that the internet also showed you that the costs were correct for the tests that they did. You just latched on to whatever pricing fit the bill for your situation.
EVERYONE HAS A SOB STORY!!!! YOUR LIFE IS NO HARDER OR WORSE THEN THE NEXT PERSON.
YOUR SOB STORY BEARS NO REVALANCE TO THE SITUATION CONCERNING WHAT YOU OWE!!
But Im 100% sure in this case you will be incorporating this situation into your SOB story. Guess what, businesses DO NOT HAVE PITY!!! You can play the victim all you like but it doesnt change the situation. You owe this company for services rendered.
