We purchased 2 3-hour horsebacking riding tours on Saturday October 8, 2011. What we received was NOTHING like their website stated. We were supposed to see waterfalls, caves, historic settlements, scenic overlooks, streams, and were supposed to advised by a "guide" about the historical significance of the area. NONE of this happened! We rode "FAIR PONY STYLE" horses for 3 hours through the forest. We saw trees, trees and more trees, and little else! We have repeatedly tried to contact the owner of the "business" and our calls were never answered and our e-mails are now bouncing back as undeliverable! This miserable experience cost us $200 and really wasn't worth $20. IF you choose to go to Lake Glendale Stables, be prepared to be "RIPPED OFF!" We have filed complaints with the Illinois Attorney General and the St Louis Better Business Bureau, both of which service the Golconda, Illinois area. I hope they can help, because I trusted this business and they stole my money! NEVER AGAIN THOUGH!!
