Lake Pointe Medical Center Care at local hospital Rowlett Texas

I have experienced a chest pain with shortness of breath the day of April 19, 2016 and as a health care professional I have decided to visit the nearest ED. I was in waiting room around 2130. My initial BP was 180/100 with pulse 123, in my chart the initial VS are documented little different. Regardless, with chest pain 7/10 and SOB, I have never received Aspirin nor NTG. Also 12 lead EKG was done incorrectly.

I got to the room around midnight that day. I saw a doctor, which one of the first question was if I’m using illegal drugs. My blood was drawn and nurse started IV.

I was discharged without any explanation, without any paperwork. Doctor told me that my WBC was elevated but he will not give me any prescription for antibiotics or any other medication, that I will have to follow up with my primary.

I was looking through my chart and I saw that your staff let me sign paper that I have received the discharge instructions and prescription, but this document was signed during my triage. I had my wife by my bed side who is also ER nurse and I’m myself public safety officer; firefighter/paramedic.

All I have to say that for being treated with one bag of sailine and accusation of drug use, and not being discharged with any paperwork or medication; my insurance company was billed over $ 8000 and I'm stuck also with $1100 bill myself.

My experiance was so eye openning and it is so very sad that I will not EVER use this facility in my life for ANY emergency eventho this facility is only 5 min from my house.
