Lalawest.com cell phone mis- representation Los Angeles California

My son purchased a Motorola L7 off ebay from a company in Californis USA lalawest.com in Aug of 2006. When he purchased the phone it prompted him to squaretrade for an extended 3 warranty which he purchased. Lalawest later said they don't endorse Squaretrade but it's on the ebay page that came up when he was paying for the cell to lalawest.

When he recieved the phone it came with a 1yr manufactures warranty.With in 3 months of the expiration of the manufactures warranty the phone stopped working. So we called and when we gave the serial # to Motorola they informed us that this phone was not warrantied in the USA. That the phone itself was NOT intended for sale or use in the USA.

At this we called Squaretrade and was told the exact samething. Squaretrade did the honorable thing and refunded the monies for the extended warranty. Both Motorola and Squaretrade said they would investigate. But we still had no warranty or NO one in the USA that would fix the phone. I contacted Sam at lalawest and he said maybe they could fix it....the point is had we known this phone would not be able to be serviced HERE IN THE USA we would not have purchased it and a 3 yr warranty on top of it.

So I filed a complaint with the BBB ( no help from them).Lalawest stated that everyone knows that unlocked phones are not from USA. They also said that it was stated in their terms and conditions and or policies. This was not, as well as they said they don't endorse Squaretrade but it's on the site. So instead of Buyer beware it's buyer be screwed!!!!

The last report from BBB stating this it was closed before we could show proof of their deception.My son finally downloaded something that fixed his phone. Lalawest also stated that the phone was not available in the USA, but my son proved them wrong sending the BBB proof that the phone was available in the USA. Goes to show that if pay the BBB they will back your lies up.
