I have been a member of Lasalle bank for the past two years. I consider myself a fairly knowledgeable person. One that has no problem understanding rules and regulations. However since being a member of Lasalle, this has been a challenge for me.

It seems the I can't get their system together which continues to lead to overdrafts fees. I have contacted the bank so much in an attempts to undertstand their system, that they probably know me on a first name basis.

They tell you that when you ise your debit card that hte money is subtracted from your balance and placed on hold until the funds are released for payment. Which is what should be the case and will keep your check book balanced, they then state that the money that is put on hold is still able to be used to pay for other items that may come through before the vendor request payment form the previous sale. They then take and pay the highest to lowest item, which will cause you to have overdrafts for all the smaller items if they post them after the larger item. If your account is at a positive at the close of business you will not be assessed a fee, however the close of business is not when the branch close at 5pm. It late at night. Which causes overdrafts. If you deposit money in the atm after hours of after 3pm you will have to wait a few days before the money is avaiable, which even though they see the deposit made before the payment comes through, they still will charge you an overdraft fee. If you make a deposit to the branch before the close of business and the account has a pending charge to be paid, you still may be charged an overdraft fee.

Lasalle has had to reverse some of their charges in the past due to giving out wrong information in referece to thier policies. However,I still have been charged some fees since then, that I know were not right!!!! I hope and pray that something can be done to help the hundreds of people this is happening to. I know I am not alone on htis matter.

We all need to get together and do something about this!
