In Jan. '06, I hired Laura Endsley to be my wedding photographer. The wedding was 6/10/06. Between hiring her and the wedding, we had some engagement portraits and bridal portraits taken. During this time, I noticed that she rarely returned phone calls or e-mails and seemed to take a long time getting the photos done. Whenever I could get hold of her, it was always the same excuses, including "I lost my phone," "I was sick," or "I didn't get your e-mail."

Two months after the wedding, my husband and I moved to a different state. We still didn't have our wedding photos, but Laura assured us she would mail them to us. By Sept. 06, we still had not received any proofs and had had no contact with her, despite leaving her several phone messages and e-mails.

On 10/4/06 we finally received our proofs. On 11/7/06 we ordered wedding portraits from her and I requested for her to tell me how much we owed for those. By 12/7/06 we still had not gotten a response. I emailed her that day to tell her we would be in town for the holidays and could pick up the portraits if they were done. She replied that they were ready and that we could call her when we got into town and pick them up. I called her several times while we were there and she never returned my calls, so I didn't get the portraits.

After several more unreturned messages, I contacted her again 2/27/07 and asked about our portraits and photo album. She replied and said she would mail the portraits that week and the photo album in two weeks. 3/27/2007, still nothing received. She finally emailed me and said she would mail the portraits that day and that the album was almost done.

4/13/07, still nothing received. She said that she had sent everything, but that one of our album pages came back from the lab wrong and that she would have them mail it to us. As of today 10/3/07 we have not received this last picture. From April to now I have called and emailed her several times and she has not responded. On Sept. 11 2007 she actually answered her phone and told me that she had put the last picture in the mail that day. It still has not been received.

I warned her that if she did not respond to me by last Friday and resolve this issue that I would lodge complaints against her, so that is what I am doing. Everybody in the Waco, TX area be warned -- find a different photographer! Her work is excellent but it is not worth the hassle and you likely won't get the things you pay for.

The truth

AUTHOR: Laura - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2007

Quality portraiture takes time. It is not unusual for a completed wedding album/image box and slideshow to take 4 months to complete when there is extensive retouching to be done. I did not charge this bride for the hour and a half of extra time I was at her wedding and I did extensive retouching to her portraits at no additional charge. I also gave her additional retouched portraits complimentary, but there is no pleasing this bride.

Finally got this resolved.

After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and waiting almost a month, she finally responded. She sent me the missing photo from my album as well as a few complimentary images. She also sent an apology letter stating that she had some problems come up over the past six months but that she knew that was no excuse for bad customer service.

So, it's finally resolved. However, I still wouldn't recommend her as a photographer. Her work is wonderful but the hassle of dealing with her really isn't worth it.
