I had contacted Laura May, realtor from Remax in Tryon, NC as an interested buyer. Initially she seemed very nice and helpful. The first place we went under contract (listed with a different agency), unfortunately the sale fell apart (and I do not believe it was the failure of the realtor). But when I found another place I wanted to put an offer on (this was one of her personal listings), she started arguing with me about the price I was wanting to offer! Literally like I worked for her, instead of the other way around. Rude, condescending she was refusing to submit my offer to the seller. LECTURING me on what price she thought I should be submitting. Chastising me because she was so smart and knew so much better than me. Actually called me dumb to my face. Not surprisingly I found someone else to work with and we went our separate ways.

Some months passed and I was in an area bar and socializing with some people new to the area, some people had been there a while, and the new people really happy with their real estate agent and I voice my 2 cents of my rude experience with Laura May of Remax. What happened next is what really set me off to share this post The people who had been there were VERY familiar with Laura May, they go to private parties where she is at also...apparently the woman is a liberal drinker and after some drinks starts running her mouth, A LOT. Sharing personal details of her clients lives, and financial lives WITH NAMES! I had a very particular to me detail that (when we had put offer in on first place) in friendly conversation had been exchanged with Laura May. And she had REPEATED it!!! With MY name!!! I have no idea if this is just bad practice or actually illegal, but I was shaking angry. These people who know her says she loves bad mouthing and trash talking HER OWN CLIENTS! And will go on and on about how dumb and so stupid they are and how smart she is... (I don't think treating clients like this is too smart). The other details of other people they started repeating were cringeworthy and if people were actually aware of what was going on I don't think this woman would be working in this area (or in real estate) much longer.

So BE WARNED! Your personal details, financials, marriage issues, health problems, anything you share with this woman while working closely with her during real estate transactions will be broadcast like it is the 6 o'clock news, and she will name names, all the while talking about you like you are trash and she is some perfect superhuman.
