I have dealt with a several Law Firms in business and some personal and their firm is fantastic. Larry Manassa's knowledge of the law is incredible. He also has a bit of "pit bull" in him. I wouldn't want to go against him in court! I wouldn't hesitate to refer this firm in the future and in fact already have

To clarify, my firm withdrew from the case at least one year before Mr. Sobilo fled to Egypt.  Mrs. Sobilo subsequently hired a second attorney who withdrew from her case shortly thereafter.  Mrs. Sobilo was on her third attorney at the time Mr. Sobilo fled to Egypt.

While I am taking this opportunity to respond to the defaming complaint posted on this site by Cory from Chicago on August 24, 2017, the person who made the complaint is evidently using a false name, and the site’s owner has refused to provide the complainer’s actual name or contact information.  If I knew Cory from Chicago was actually a client of mine (as I believe I have only had one client named Cory in all of my years of practice and that was several years ago), I would try to resolve the complaint directly with them. As it stands, I don’t know if this is written by a former client using an alias or just a disgruntled ex-spouse of a client seeking to hurt my reputation. It is truly a shame that forums like this exist where people hide behind their screen instead of taking responsibility for their defamatory and libelous statements.

As you can see when you visit the website for my law firm, we have received several commendations for excellence, including being found one of the 10 Best Law Firms from the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys (based upon client satisfaction) and personal recognition as one of the top percentage of attorneys in America. We also have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, an agency which actually requires the identity of complainants and then investigates complaints rather than just hosting a website where anyone can post any negative, false and defaming statements they want, without consequences.

In responding directly to the accusations posted, I have never been disciplined or sanctioned by the ARDC (Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois).  With respect to the 2006 lawsuit, Ms. Sobilo actually came into the law firm where I worked in 2006, Riffner Barber Rowden & Manassa, and asked us to handle the same lawsuit before filing it. When my office would not take the case on a contingency basis, she found other counsel and then added my firm’s name to the lawsuit. The lawsuit alleged that her husband, one year after my firm withdrew from her case (and after two other firms later withdrew), left to Egypt with a significant portion of the marital estate.  Although I have always felt great empathy for Ms. Sobilo, my firm was not involved in her case in the year prior to her husband leaving with the money, and my law firm was clearly not responsible for what took place. My reputation matters to me. I pride myself on candor, to my clients and the court. I am always prepared and take every step necessary to protect my clients. My clients matter to me – all of them.
