We have an RV that was puchased new from Lazy Days in Seffner, FL.  An Onan generator was installed at the time of purchase.

There was an extended Warranty purchased from the dealer at the time of the original sale.  The Extended Warranty was for 6 years.

The RV and Extended Warranty was purchased by a gentleman that, shortly after his purchase, decided not to keep the RV.  We bought the RV from him, and paid the Warranty Company the $50.00 that they requested for the transfer.

Some time after we bought the RV, the generator was started, and would not keep running.  After the third try, it was determined that the generator was getting too hot, and it was going off on safety for the overheating situation.

In addition, it was determined that the generator exhaust was blowing oil.

We took the RV back to Lazy Days RV for diagnostic and repair.

About two hours after dropping off our RV, we got a call from the service manager saying that the generator was not installed property.  There was not enough ventilation for the generator, and they said it would cost $450.00 to change the ventilation so that the generator would not overheat.

They also said that the reason for the oil spraying from the exhaust of the generator was the result of a defective transfer switch.

I don't know a lot about engines, but the automatic switch that changes the power from shore power to generator power absolutely cannot be the cause of oil spraying out of the exhaust.

So then they proceeded to tell me that the charge for the diagnostic is $120.00.

So it is $120.00 for them to tell me that they installed the generator wrong in the first place, and to tell me that it will cost $450.00 to fix their mistake.

Needless to say, I picked up my RV and did not allow them to proceed further.
