This local florist is copntracted with 1-800-Flowers and FTD. They were assigned an arraingment from said contractors. They failed to deliver on time, they were 4 days late. Not only did they fail punctual delivery, they sent an arraingment that was not the arraingment orderd nor was it representative of the dollar amount spent-for a "subsitute". The arraingment from 1-800-Flowers cost $79.99 plus after taxes and delivery fee, total cost was $93.00. When confronting LeGrues about the $20.00 arraingment they sent (with dead daises and already wilting roses), the owners became extremly hostile and demanded their flowers back. Legally, regardless of awful the service and flowers, the flowers and service were already paid for- and not refunded, making the flowers mine.

The owners sent out a driver to pick up my grossly over-paid arraingment at my place of employment anyway. Then they demanded to know where I live after discovering I had already gone home for the day. Not only did the owners of this company have hostile buisness ethics, they are ripping customers off with the high dollar spent on their products and the low quality and value they deliver. Makes me think they were going to try and re-use the flowers in my arraingment for someone else.

Other reviews from the past on-line indicate this is not the first time this family owned company has practiced poor buisness standards. Seems they have a history of delivering poor quality and value and taking beack arraingments after confronting them on their scam.

Stay away from this company. Far away.

The photo attached clearly states the order and the date. If you received an order for "make her day bouquet", that specific order has a keepsake of a tin pitcher that the flowers come in. What was received was a 6in plain glass vase from LeGreus. It does not change the fact of how horrible the customer relations is nor does it change the fact that you DO NOT deliver what is paid for! A rip off is still a rip off no matter how you want to spin and manipulate the situation. You also signed up to work with the companies you are clearly advocating against! Is that how you get your business? Deliver terrible service for the contracted company and then tell everyone they should "buy from your local florist" ie. you? As far as "not able to please this customer" .... Um .... Excatly! When a customers calls and asks what happened to the order that was placed and the flower shop is hostile and immediately demanding the lack luster and grossly over paid product back, yes that would be grounds for not pleasing your customer. In fact, it is warranted a review for others to know the bullcrap this company pulls. Honestly, I would not waste my time with the report or the rebuttals if I felt in anyway LeGrues had nothing to do with this. As it stands, you do. As far as 1800flowers, don't think for one second the same isn't being done for them. LeGreus needs to take responsibility that you screwed up and this, again according to others reviews over the years, is not the first time the company has acting inappropriately for a business. Take responsibility and own up to your screw up.

This consumer’s latest response provided some additional, interesting information.  Our information from 1-800 Flowers about this order differs from the information that the sender detailed. According to what LeGrue’s received, the arrangement that was to be delivered was the “Make Her Day Bouquet” and not “Shades of Purple.” which LeGrues is not responsible for. This may certainly account for the recipient getting flowers different than those that were expected.  In addition, despite the sender indicating that the arrangement was paid for on 5/8/15, LeGrue’s did not receive the order until 5/12/15 with a delivery date of 5/12/15.  There apparently are several discrepancies regarding what was ordered by the customer and the order LeGrue’s received from 1-800 Flowers.  Given this information, the sender needs to talk to 1-800 Flowers to learn why LeGrue’s received an incorrect order.   It is clear that the sender is blaming the wrong party.  We are sorry that the recipient of this order received the wrong arrangement, but this is not a result of errors made by LeGrue’s.  It is also clear that LeGrue’s would never have been able to please this customer, nor was LeGrue’s given the opportunity to try to do so.  This customer should be talking to 1-800 Flowers to resolve his issues on delivery date, the arrangement ordered, and the amount spent.  As stated before, ordering flowers from companies like 1- 800 Flowers, FTD, Telefora or other order gatherers is not economical, and as seen in this instance, can result in errors. These services, contract with florists in the cities delivering the flowers and add on enormous amounts of service charges that the consumer ultimately is responsible for paying.  The consumer believes that the service charge is for the delivery.  This is not the case.   When you order flowers from order gatherers, the orders go through numerous hands before it gets to the florist.  Once again, contact your local florist in the city you want the flowers delivered to in order to save yourself extra fees and get more for your money.  You most likely will be happier and receive a nicer arrangement since you eliminate most or all of the service charges.  Should there be an issue, work with the delivering florist to resolve the issue rather than immediately requesting refunds and writing inflammatory reviews  Kindly look at this website (floristdetective) which will give you detailed information about how the flower wire service business works and the benefits of not using order gatherers or wire services to send flower arrangements.

Your rebuttal is complete lie! The arraignment that was bought and paid for was "Shades of Purple" from 1800Flowers on 05/08/2015 to be delivered same day. The arraignment was upgraded and was $79.99- this is before the points discount price to $69.99-. The order was paid on 05/08/2015, deliery fee and taxes made the total $92.00.

The order was put on your back burner, as you stated in an email you could not deliver that day. Instead, you insisted on delivering on Tuesday 05/12/2015. You delivered at 5pm on Tuesday. What was delivered is absolutly no way comparable to what was ordered. Your product was awful, it was half dead on arrival and it was a $29.99 at best!  A difference of $63.00 unaccounted for.

As far as your "excuse" for harassing us to get flowers back, pointing fingers and saying that she felt "entitled" to  keep the horrible arraignment that was sent, of course I felt that way. A refund still has not been iussued from 1800Flowers (as many people are facing).

Bottom line...Your Company signed up with 1800Flowers knowing what you will be subjected to as far as cost and product. If you cannot fulfill your end of the agreement with the company, then stop ripping customers off and end your agreement. As I have said before, I am not the only one you have done this to. There are several complaints about your business on line. Your business is unethical, you refused to listen to what the problem was and instead, began screaming and demanding product back, that legally is not yours! A service was paid for at the cost of $92.00, you delivered sad flowers (that she is allergic to--Lilies---in the Shades of Purple order there are -zero- 0  Lilies) worth a fraction of that cost. In no way did you "try" to work with us.  Again, 1800Flowers contracts out to you, you are the responsible party to fulfill your end of the agreement with that company. Not our problem if your cost and supply do not match.  What you are doing is a fraud; you have $60.00 that UN accounted for. That is a rip off.

In regards to your customer service, you could use a class or three on how to treat paying customers. Honestly, your service and treatment is shameful.

Flower Shops Response

AUTHOR: owner - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 20, 2015

At LeGrue’s it is always our desire and intent to provide products and services that exceed our customers’ expectations.  We pride ourselves on delivering beautiful flower arrangements, and therefore we take seriously any complaints that come our way.  It is unfortunate that this individual did not allow us to try to resolve his issues.  Much of the information provided in this complaint is inaccurate or incomplete.   The arrangement ordered was $69.99 including the cost for delivery.  The reason the final cost was considerably more is because 1-800 Flowers adds service charges for processing the order, same day delivery, etc.  and taxes.  These service charges are kept entirely by 1-800 Flowers. Included in the $69.99 price of the arrangement is the flowers, the vase, the labor, and the delivery. An appropriate arrangement was delivered, and the flowers were delivered on the date requested, not four days late.  If the customer had been unhappy with the arrangement, we would have worked with him to rectify the situation, most likely exchanging it with a replacement arrangement.  Unfortunately, before a resolution could happen, this customer was provided a full refund by 1-800 Flowers.   Therefore, we requested the arrangement back.  The sender did not believe that he should have to return the flowers, instead thinking that he was entitled to a nice arrangement of flowers that he did not pay for.  That is just not the case. In order to avoid costly service charges and thus get more value for your dollar, we recommend that consumers order flowers directly from their local florist rather than from an order gatherer such as 1-800 Flowers and that they work directly with the florist if there are any concerns about their orders.
