My husband purchased a 2001 GMC Safari van for our large family in May of 2008  at Lee auto mall in Augusta. and after only 5 days it broke down.We called Lee and were told at first that the repairs that were needed were not covered in our warranty.

After days of arguing over the phone we were told that the repairs would be taken care of and we would not be charged for them. The fuel pump had to be replaced they told us and we should not have any more problems.

As of 4 months ago our safari has been sitting in the backyard because there are so many things wrong with it , we have to pay for one repair at a time. We are still paying on this vehicle.

Lee and Maine auto credit have refused to help remedy this situation in any way even though we were told by Maine auto credit that they would help with the repairs. I warn anyone even considering going to Lee anywhere to run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

A few questions....

AUTHOR: Chefkeith - (U.S.A.)

I am sorry you are having problems with your vehicle. Let me ask you this though. Did you have the vehicle checked out before you bought it? Did you test drive it for any amount of time? My wife and I purchased a vehicle at Lee Cars in Saco. The salesman let us take out any vehicle we wanted and insisted on us driving them for a while. He told us we could have any vehicle looked at by a garage of our choice. We ended up purchasing a beautiful Chevy Malibu. It needed an alignment and that was done 5 days after purchase. We had a turn signal problem that was not covered under warranty and they covered it. We had a check engine light come on and it needed a valve near the exhaust. All covered under warranty. They even gave us a gas slip because they felt bad the car was delivered with only a quarter tank. I don't see how Maine Auto Credit can help you. They are the finance company and have nothing to do with the vehicle repairs. Again I am sincerely sorry for your vehicle problems.
