Lee Reaves, Jr. aka Black River Land and Timber Unfinished Work/Back Wages/Uninsured Business Alcolu South Carolina

I recently hired Lee Reaves, Jr. (Black River Land and Timber) to clear a drainage ditch on some real estate I own in South Carolina. The project was a 3 day job at most. The first he shows up by himself with a worn out John Deere bull dozier that kept breaking down. He continued to go to Double D Farms in order to have the machine repaired. After two weeks of this I finally asked him to leave. He presented an invoice in the amount of $7000 after doing less than half the work. I had already given him a $3000 draw against his proposal. I have since hired a company out of Columbia. Research shows the Reaves has had numerous business in Clarendon County that have failed to include an equipment rental company as well as a grass cutting business. Court records indicate that he has numerous judgements dating back to early 2000. After talking with local people I found out that he owes back wages and often uses child labor on these jobs. Anyone living in Clarendon County SC or owning real estate needs to be aware of this guy. He is backed financially by Double D Farms, a local mom and pop farming company.
