Basically this dealership utilizes a practice called shotgunning. They will run your credit through so many banks that your credit is damaged. When advised not to run our credit through more than one entity, they did it anyway then said we are getting you a lower interest rate and have the deal done, no problem. Not the case at all. Rather, when I folloed up to inquire, Rob Godard had now idea whom I was, nor much about our deal that was supposed to be done.
Meanwhile Ford Motor Credit easily approved us again and we had our new vehicle in a matter of hours. Lee's Summit Dodge continued to run our credit through banks after we had already purchased another vehicle. When I called and asdvised them they do not have permission to run us through anyone but GMAC/Ally bank once, they continued to run our credit.
Rob Godard is dishonest and lacks integrity. Of course working at a "bailout" company it figures.
We will never do business with Chrsyler/Dodge and are looking at legal litigation against this dishonest dealership that damaged our credit.

The fact is that I specifically directed them to run ONLY GMAC/Ally bank and if they did not want the business, we would stay with Ford at 1.9%
It DOES affect our credit regardless of how minimal you try to make it sound, in fact we were denied a zero% APR travel rewards credit card due to inquiries. That is what Chase stated. We have good credit, no late pays, plenty of good long standing history. Revolving, mortgage and auto loans not to mention PAID OFF student loans. We have Amex, Chase, Capitol One so we have established credit, alll paid on time, never late.
They continued to run our credit after we had advised them we already purchased through another brand without any problem.
Ken from Greeley spewing I have no idea of what is going on has no merit.
"Shotgunning" is a common and well known practice used by lazy finances manager that do not have relationships with lenders.
My score was affected (lowered) by the inquiries, regardless of how minimal it is.
Say my score is 720 and it affects my score by 10%, which would be 72 "points".
As for Chrsyler/Dodge not missing our business, well, we are not the ones getting welfare from taxpayers. We pay our bills.

Ruined your credit??

How was your credit ruined by Lee's Summit Dodge?
What was your credit score before they ran the checks?
What is your credit score, now, after they ran the checks?
You do know that the lawyers will want this information when you file your lawsuit.
Did you actually read the information on how your credit score is generated? It's provided on your report.
Sounds like you really don't have a clue as to what's going on.
Also, where did you come up with the "practice" called "shotgunning"....never heard of it on a credit check?
I doubt Lee's Summit Dodge will miss your business much at all. ;)

You don't know what you are talking about

Here are some facts you need to know about.
First when you filled out the credit application you gave them permission to run your credit.
INQUIRIES are only worth about 10%-15% of your score(depending on the scoring model used). Depending on your overall report that would mean a single inquiry would give you anywhere from about a 3-10 point "hit" on average. Unless you are a "borderline" situation this will have absolutly no effect on any approvals or interest rate you may receive. Inquiries are not going to turn spotless credit into sub-prime credit.
Inquiries remain on your report for 2 years but have a very short term effect on your score. Within 6 months the effect is minimal, and within a year the inquiry is all but ignored in your score.
Scoring models allow for this "rate shopping". That is for auto loans they will treat ALL inquires within a certain amount of time(generally about 14 days) as a SINGLE inquiry. Because by law they are required to list each inquiry you will see them individually listed. But in the actual scoring calculation they will all be treated as one. This is because unlike other types of credit they know you are not going to get multiple car loans. You are going to end up with one, so they only "hit" you once.
We will never do business with Chrsyler/Dodge and are looking at legal litigation against this dishonest dealership that damaged our credit
- You can look all you want but it will really just be a waste of time.
