On 12 Nov 2004 a Legacy Merchants sales rep. came to my business. Introducing credit card and check swipe services. I told the sales person that I really didn't need credit card machine but I was interested in the check swipe services. He told me I could not get the check swipe service unless I got the credit card service as well.

He quoted me a price of 65.00 per month for the service. I asked him if I would have to pay any extra fees for the check swipe and he said no but did tell me I would have to pay 1.62% of total credit card services. I asked him not once but three times if there was going to be charges on the check swipe machine and he replied no.

The advantage of the check swipe to my business would eliminate a 25 mile drive to the bank saving me time and fuel. It would offset the 65.00 for the credit card and check swipe service.

Of the sales person presentation of the service I was excited of haveing the service I did not bother of reading the fine print trusting what the salesperson explained of what i was signing? He also said that it would accept insurance checks, business checks, and personal checks. I ran three checks. One was a personal check which was $200.00, another personal check for $196.56, and an Insurance check for $1450.06. The $1450.06 insurance check was declined by global check services but I was still charged me a transaction charges of $27.13 and a $10.00 monthly fee and minus $3.44 charging my account of $33.69 for all three checks.

When I found that I was being charged a percentage for all checks swiped I immediately call global check service to find out if there was some mistake on the charges. They said that was what I had to pay for the check services. I then called Legacy Merchants to ask what was going on. I requested the service be cancelled because the salesman verbally misrepresented the contract and they said I had signed a four year contract that could not be cancelled. At time of signing contract I was told I could cancel for a fee of $95.00 at anytime. I then called Integrated Leasing Services and they told me that the contract that I signed could not be cancelled even if I didn't use the service. At signing the contract I did not read the fine print for the sales person was very trusting and he had highlighted where I was to sign and I did so.

At this time I am paying Integrated Leasing Services $75.47 a month Global Check Service $20.00 a month and not knowing why Legacy Merchant Services $10.00 a month plus $8.95 a month totaling $114.42. It was all supposed to have been $65.00 a month contract with 1.62% on all credit card transactions.

it is me again sorry

i called legacy today and they said once i sign the leases it is out of their hands and they are just a agent only!

they give me the runaround again telling me to call intergrated eps. and they have nothing to do with anything after the first year and yet i call intergrated and they have rude receptionists and that i was to call legacy for they initiated it from there geting no where

legacy says there are now new people, and intergrated keep harrasing calls and will not fix anything from day one i called them both and told them what each other said and they both will not comunicate nor fix the problem even if i tell them where and what line in their programing is the problem they just tell me to call each other and i get billed again wanting to get out of this even after the leases are expired. i think it is intergrated services where they are sticking it to me and they are strictly billing and will not fix the problem passing the buck and they are restarting the mess over again like day on in 2005 and i can get them to stop and they will not call back or fix the problem

all i want is either the moneys back and or if i can not get moneys back. have them stop all services which they refuse. i tried mail fax and calling to intergrated and they refuse to talk or fix it and pass me to legacy and they will not stop. i think this is a fr4aud or someone in intergrated is not wanting to fix it due to them owing moneys back i do now know

it stinks and they are both refusing to sease services for something i dont have anymore and get billed for again and again.

i tell thejm both the problem and they both refuse to fix it
go figure
dont use intergrated they will not work with you and rude on the phone and will not send u to any managers ect and bill you for stuff that dont and did not work or fix..

never again will i use these machines they charge too much and ti takes a lot of money and time to get it to stop.

i have not recived any calls back they say they will fix it blaming each other which legacy says i am no longer in their machines, and intergrated says i got to call legacy.. realy have any of u seen this

please help no one will coaperate no one knows how to fix it.. they are realy ripping me off and still doing it.

this happened to my company too but much worse

We had the same thing come to my business but they at the time did not have a check swipe machine and in 2005 i asked for one only did not want anything else but a check do hickey. the sales person called and they could not do this at the time and got me the contract and said i half to have a credit card machine and they will half to enter checkes manualy. and they will contact me when they get the swiper. after a week of checks ran through the machines updated and it stoped working and kept erroring out. and no rep was available since the xmas holidays was here at the time. Of course after a couple of months no one called and i started to see alot of billing in my bank for things i did not want leasing of machines, and alot of other stuff averaging over 250 a month, I do not make that much easily for a small business fixing old computers. So i called legacy and they say the person is out to lunch or sick, I tried several months till finaly i asked someone else to help me. they then said maybe the machine was broken and someone will come out to fix it. again no one called or came for over a month untill i called. a teck came out and they tried to replace it and found out it was their programing errors and they will fix it. they then gave me another unit. and i was supose to run a special check after a day or two or they call me, again it did not work. then i gave up on it for a couple of months thinking it will cure for i had to be out of state. I came back and again it did not work when i came back. got the runaround sick thing again from legacy and i was billed for all the months i had the services. I then decited to call global check services since i could not get a responce from lagacy and they went and looked up the records and said that there was bad programing and they would send a teck out. he got it working and it worked that day untill i ran a new check and it refused it and the machines the second one said error and started blinking and going nuts. i called them again they said the machine is outdared they will send me a new one. so i waited it came in about a week and it was supose to work but it did not they started blaming it on my phone lines and the teck came out again saying it is legacy they are not fixing their programing. I then wanted out of the contract but they said that the contract can not be broken. i tell them why am i paying for machines that i can not use. they then said they will fix it by geting me a new system and a swiper to fix the problem and ament the leases, asking me to sign a new lease and they will void the old one. but they did not release the old one. but when i got the machines it did not work again. finaly i asked the teck to print out the history and being a teck found out that there was a entry cancling all global check services and a few more programing errors for the machines and they did not remove it at the start of the first lease. but they now have two leases pending and i was being billed twice. making me more mad. so i started refusing to pay, maybe a mistake but then i got these harrasing calles three times a day saying for me to pay, i told them each time fix the machines ill pay. now it is december 2008 all contracts are now expired this month, i am geting lawyers calls saying they will sue, still have no service and they are now starting the mess over again re enstating all leasings without permition i got over 200 dolars of anual fees for no contracts.

I do not know how to fix it nor anyone will help and i now have bad credit ect from this. and yes the machines are still broken and i can not use then nor will it conect to the services, nor can i get then all to close down anything.
is there anyone out there that can help

Some "Legacy" You Have There...

I despise companies like this, and Legacy is precisely why RipOff Report was created, I'm sure. They solicit you, all down-home charm and smiles and 'trust me' attitude, then stick it to you after the sale and claim, "Hey it was all there in black and white!" And we're left being the 'idiots' who didn't read every 3-point-font of their agreement.

This incident has taught me that the most important question before signing any agreement is this; "Is it possible to cancel?" If the answer is yes, make *them* show *you* where it is in the contract (if they can find it).

I'm sure they have "bent over backwards" to make things right -- right after this appeared on RipOff Reports. Thanks, Frank in Columbus, for exposing companies like this one. And thanks to creator of this site for making it possible.

On November 12, 2004 Frank in Columbus, entered into an agreement to process credit cards & checks. The documents signed by Frank in Columbus clearly spells out all the associated fees in writing.

On November 12, 2004 Frank in Columbus, Jr. entered into a 48 month non-cancelable lease agreement with Integrated Leasing Corp. for two pieces of equipment: One for processing credit cards and another for processing checks. He received both those pieces of equipment and Integrated Leasing is charging "Frank in Columbus" exactly what the contract says they would charge. That document was signed 4 times by Frank in Columbus.

Obviously, Frank in Columbus was very much aware that he knowingly and willingly was entering into agreements to process both credit cards and checks and, that there were fees associated with processing both.

In fact, at the time of the installation of the credit card and check processing equipment, Frank in Columbus indicated to the installation technician that he would also be processing business checks in addition to personal checks, Master Card & Visa. In order to do so, the installation technician contacted Global Check in California and put them on the phone with Frank in Columbus. Frank in Columbus gave Global Check all the information necessary for him to process business checks. At that time Global Check informed Frank in Columbus that his check discount rate would then be reduced to 1.62% and he was verbally grateful and obviously agreed.

Incidentally, Frank in Columbus had originally been quoted a check discount rate of 1.69% so this in fact was a reduction in favor of Frank in Columbus At that time the technician then contacted the processor in order to have Frank in Columbus's electronic credit card & check processing file rebuilt, and his equipment processing equipment re-downloaded to reflect the new check processing rates he had agreed to and accepted on the phone with Global Check.

Legacy Merchant Services Inc., has bent over backwards attempting to make Frank in Columbus satisfied. In response to his calls we have:

1. Successfully lobbied to have his monthly minimums (stipulated by contract) and requested by Frank in Columbus lowered from $25 to $0
2. Successfully lobbied to have his Master Card & Visa monthly statement fee (stipulated by contract) and requested by Frank in Columbus lowered from $10 to $6
3. Successfully lobbied to have his Check Processing also include business checks as requested by Frank in Columbus and lowered his check Discount Rate fee (stipulated by contract) lowered from 1.69% to 1.62% and finally 1%.

The $8.95 is a voluntary extended warranty program and can be canceled at any time. In fact, today in response to this letter we are canceling the warranty program and refunding those funds to "Frank in Columbus." He is not paying Legacy Merchant Services ANYTHING for $10 per month. There was one $10 charged for his first statement and he has not been charged since.

Neither Legacy Merchant Services, Inc., Integrated Leasing nor the salesman has done anything fraudulent or dishonest. Everything billed to Frank is 100% in compliance with the parameters outlined in the contracts signed & acknowledged multiple times by Frank. Instead, it appears to be more like a case of buyer's remorse
