Legacy Vacation Club Resort Scam

In September 2011 we were contacted by a subcontractor called Strataforce who falsely represented themselves as employees of Legacy Vacation Club Resort in Kissimmee Florida with whom we have owned a timeshare since 1992. During our tenure we were with Interval International an exchange company for timeshares. We had a lock out unit for every other year so our maintenance fees only had to be paid every other year but we could trade in each half every year which worked well for us. Sometimes we would trade in both halves and take the entire family on vacation. We went to places like Reno, Florida and Tennessee. When we were contacted we were lied to by Benny Lacks and Lynn Colvano of Strataforce and told we HAD to switch to RCI from Interval International because Legacy Vacation Club Resort was no longer honoring exchanges from Interval International. This fee was $1995. We found out that this was not true in January 2012 and we were told to contact Rousana Figueroa which we did and not surprisingly never heard back. My wife's friend who used RCI said she liked it so we figured we would give it a try. We cannot get the same deals we used to get because of the point system which you cannot even carry over the next year. We have not once used RCI but have continued to pay the maintenance fees each year.

We reached out to them to file our grievances about the entire situation and spoke with Michael Bell who initially said he never heard of Strattaforce and indicated we were ripped off by a third party until I found my Credit Card receipt from 2011 and scanned him a copy clearly saying Legacy Vacation Resort Club was the merchant.

We have been duped and have asked for our money back but have not gotten a response from Rousana Figueroa who only said she contacted upper management regarding our situation and is waiting for a reply. We just heard back and guess what, they are keeping our money. We have never even used RCI because they are horrible. I was told I could pay a fee to get out of my timeshare that I owned for 23 years and paid $6,200 for because they are Worthless. In addition they ripped us off for another 2K.

Timeshare Scam

AUTHOR: margaretsims90 - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Timeshares are never a good purchase and timeshare owners need to be cautious about this. There are lots of timeshare scams. I recommend you to read a good article with good information about timeshares: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/206-how-to-get-out-of-a-timeshare/
