Wow, If you just look at some of the former reviews, I think they speak for themselves. Hundreds of unhappy members with this firm alone, and yet the owner of the firm Mr. Dempsey, had the gall and nerve to say to a member of almost 20 years, that "he doesn't care if someone gives his firm a bad survey because his firm is #1 in the nation".

Having done my perfunctory research on this quote and behavior, I found that Jeff Bell is the CEO of Legalshield.  Taking over for the almost defunct Prepaid legal pyramid scheme which was in a class action suit for quite some time before settling with all members (sound familiar??? Trump University????) Hold on for the kicker....., that Mr. Bell is an achieved scholar, graduating from Wharton School of Business. The renowned school Mr. Donald Trump Graduated from, as well as his bought and paid for degrees for his sons.  Interestingly enough, I found that Midocean is the Hedge fund that Legalshield is the subsidiary of. Midocean, buys, dying and failing businesses, renames them or changes the ingredients and then re-brands them with the hopes no one will see the new lipstick on the old pig.  However, it also may explain who Donald is going to get his exceptional legal minds like Rudy Giuliani since they both graduated Wharton, and both have taken over failing businesses since they could not keep a job doing their own for very long (please see Jeff Bell Wikipedia and work history).  When you hire a Wharton graduate to paint a Picasso over tainted pork, what do you arrive with (a white house portrait).

However, in almost every letter, they have had everything from grammatical mistakes to mis references to Him/Her in the same sentence or changes that needed to be made.  Now, what they do which is quite interesting, is they 1. send you any changes late, after their 3 day review period, 2. They send it to you at 4:54pm so you have no time to review it and get it back to them same day 3. they send it on a Friday, just holding up your weekend, 4. if you make one correction, they are obnoxiously allowed another 3 days to add one word, send you another draft, wait for your signature and wait another three days to read your signed draft.  Thus, effectively giving them over 9 days plus weekends to play around on your urgent matter because they can't handle the case load they have because they are a monopoly and feel if they can tell you "send your documents in with an intake number and without a GAL (general authorization letter) then they effectively do not have any time limit on how long they can take to finalize your document because the time clock does not start "supposedly ticking" until the GAL has arrived.

These types of errors grammatical errors and he/she references show the person who is receiving the letter, that there is very little power if any in such a mistake laden letter and that they can toss that one in the shredder, because at the bottom, their disclosure says "we do not presently represent this individual" so don't expect any further letters or litigation because this person hasn't a great atty helping them, but most that couldn't pass the bar the first time, and sit in a sweat farm pushing out letters late and with mistakes on a daily basis.  There has been a handful of letters that were done well after lots of oversight and actual input.  But overall, I would take My Cousin Vinny, any day over the attorneys that present themselves as actual powerful attys who mean to help you, when the boss says "we are #1 so we don't care if you don't like some of the things we do".  

OK, Well, we will see if you stay number one.  Don't treat a member of 20 years like this and expect that they accept that as professional and a way to respect the time, money and employment that we have provided you to be the monopoly Law-firm in Vegas, that clearly has made so many mistakes, it would be incumbent upon Legal-shield to add another firm to have options.  But since they don't seem to think that is a fair option, you need to respect the member and not think you are so high and mighty and you can't topple like Mr. Trump.  Oh Humpty dumpty where did you go????
