My father has been paying premiums to this company for over 20 years. He had cancer surgery a couple of months ago, and we filed a claim. Included on the claim form was a request for the doctor's report, which we sent. We were then asked to send the pathologist's report, which we sent. We were then asked for a bill listing all the expenses related to the surgery. We requested this from the hospital, and this was sent. They then requested that we send code numbers for all those expenses.

The hospital billing department didn't understand this, so they called the insurance company to get an explanation of what they needed. The hospital called us back and told us it had been taken care of. We then received another notice from the insurance company saying they needed individual bills from the anesthetist. That bill had already been part of the hospital list of expenses.

We also received a notice that the insurance did not cover payment to the facility where the surgery was performed. We have sent reams of reports to this company, but it never seems to be enough. I have written to this company telling them that I am sick and tired of this run-around that they have been giving me, and am ending my relationship with them. The game they are playing is quite obvious.... make collecting the benefit so incredibly difficult and prolonged that the claimant finally gives up, as I have. Buyer beware of Life Insurance Company of North America.
