my family purchased a hot tub from RFW in June 2003, set it up in Aug/Sept of that year and actually enjoyed it for a few months, certainly not $4,000.00 worth!!!we go out one night to get in and the water is freezing, of course no help from RFW, they sent us to spa repair companies to get repaired, which we did, 3-4 times that year, and it worked for a few more months. we drain in the summer because, really no time, too hot to use, so we set it up the next winter, same c**p happens again. and then again this winte!!! don't ever, ever, ever buy a spa/hot tub or anything from this company, they don't honor anything at all, when we did call and deal with them, we were never able to get any help from any of the incompetent people that worked there. of course, most of the people that worked there when we got our tub have probably moved on the rip off other people. they have to keep moving on i guess to live with themselves. they're thieves!!!

#4 Consumer Suggestion

How to avoid breaking your heating element again

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 22, 2006

It sounds like when you winterize your tub by draining it, you are running the heater dry which will burn up the heating element. There is a warning in the owner's manual but I'm surprised none of the service techs ever told you this was your problem.
