Lesko, Information USA, Matthew Lesko Sold my address to junk mail soliciters Kensington Maryland

I agree that this practice of selling names is common business. I also agree that it may not be in the best interest of the consumer. But the reason I am writing is that more and more vendors are affiliating themselves with companies that they (the vendors, ie Lesko) have not done their homework on and these affiliations are ripoffs. It is up to Lesko to check out who and what he is selling the names to OR HE WILL get a back lash. I have been victimized by Robert Allen in much the same way. I trusted his reputation so when a third party affiliate contacted me through him, I immediately trusted them as well. Big mistake.
Lesko is the info guru right. But he can't use his vast informational gathering abilities to run a check on a scam artist that is using the contacts Lesko SELLS them to ripoff people that trusted Lesko. He is responsible for whom he does business with in ANY form and if he messes up it is on HIM too. It doesn't matter to me that he did not know they were scammers. But it does matter to me that Lesko affiliated himself with people like that and now as far as I am concerned it has soiled Lesko's good name because he did not check with whom he did business with. Let the buyer beware, yes. But let the business beware too. With rip off report, now I know not to trust Lesko with my personal info. And will tell everyone who talks about him of the sketchy business practices he does and the even more sketchy people he does business with.

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this Robin but this is how business works. When a customer has a complaint about a business practice it is most likely that the complaint will be spread to other possible sources of income, thus negatively effecting the business who's practice is in question. Now I understand that you're trying to say that it "isn't fair" for me to report Lesko's business strategies. In result of my actions, "Poor Lesko" will now have to take into consideration what many people want to avoid, junk mail from shooty sources.

My current post is only general information. Others who read these posts do have the option of discarding my, or anyone else's, posts at will. I am glad you felt that my post warrented a reply, however, it is of the foremost importance for people that read general facts about bad business practices decide for themselves, from unbiased fact, whether they still wish to proceed with engaging these practices.

Gordon, it really isn't fair to place a complaint on this site just because Lesko "sold" your demographs to junk mail dealers..and that, from now on, poor-you will be hounded with chain letters, etc.

All I have to do to get my name sold to the same dealers is to buy a box of paper clips from a guy who happens to sell them along with his eye-catching "urgent"-plated envelopes. I, as well as God knows how many other people in the US, get hounded with junk mail.

Finding your name on compiled, hot, cold mailing lists is, unfortunately, part of that vast wheel-spinning universe that the huge amount of mailing list owners and brokers take part in - a world I gladly am NOT a part of.
