I received a letter on July 11, 2008, dated July 3, 2008 from Liberty Financial Corp. Resource Mgmt & Payment Centre stating I had won $125,000 on the lottery. It had a reservation number and batch number on it. I called the phone number on the letter on Saturday afternoon and spoke with someone named Mike (the letter said to speak with Sandra or Mike). Mike told me to deposit the check in my bank account and call back within 48 hours.
WRONG! This stunk from the start. The letter was post marked from Canada, the letter states it is from Liberty Financial in New York, the $3830 check is Aspen Medical Products, signed by W.H. Harrison in Irvine, California and drawn on the Mellon 1st Business Bank in Los Angeles, California.
Oh, by the way, I told Mike that I would work with the FBI if this was a rip-off, which I already knew it was. I just wonder how many people would believe something like this!
