what started out as an eventful and hopeful evening, quickly turned for the worse in a moment of absolute filth and terror and racist remarks viciously flung in our direction. The bathroom was covered in water and blood, I felt like I was being crucified. We asked for assistance from the housekeeper, but we felt bad for her, because she looked like she was getting beat at night by her manager. We offered to make the unkept bed ourselves. The maid gave us a black trash bag filled with "clean" blankets. One had black oil stains all over it. We woke up with bed bug bites all over our precious bodies. WE were celebrating our honeymoon, this was our first TIME in hollywood. What a gruel disappointment!  I can't say that I blame them, they were under enormous stress from reconstruction, however we asked for a refund. The white couple before us asked for a refund also, over the same types of issues. They were apologized to with dignity and respect, in addition to being offered one night free in a nicer room. Kathy and Scott (the management duo) refused to acknowledge our suffering and even went so far as to accuse us of putting our blood in the bathroom. Kathy pointed her finger at my girlfriend and accused her of having bug bites prior to coming into the hotel premises.  She then defended her maid, and  accused us of slanderous behavior, even though she was not responsible in cleaning up our room.  They held $80 for a deposits and refused to give it back onto my debit card. My bank reflected that only half of that amount was charged. The other half, I feel they are pick pocketing from helpless tourists and outsiders of Los Angeles. This was a humiliating experience, I want to sue for emotional damages, but I am taking the higher road by sharing this vital information for future innocent blood that happens to cross the Liberty Hotel. The only liberty I felt was after I left and rang the bell a final time on my way out of the door.

We booked a room here because we were going to a show at the Hollywood Bowl and wanted a place to crash so as to not drink and drive.  We knew it wasn't a high rated hotel and were prepared for it to not be nice.  The hotel is in a state of construction and there was construction debris everywhere including the lobby and corridors.  None of that bothered us.  

We had booked the room using a credit card reward program.  When we arrived we were told that we had no reservation and that they do not work with reward programs.  Our confirmation number did us no good.  We had no other options and a big concert to attend.  My blood started to boil as the clerk just kept mumbling and didn't seem to be able to explain himself.  We called the credit card company and had him listen on the speaker phone as they  confirmed the reservation had been made.  At this point I believe the clerk became intimidated as my anger started to boil over.  Finally he capitulated and said he would find us a room.  He put us in a room that had not been updated in maybe 25 years.  It was truly disgusting in every respect.  We were just happy to have any room after being told again and again that no room was available.  After about 10 minutes that same clerk called our room and told us that we could move to a better room.  The difference was unbelievable.  We went from a totally gross mold stinking ghetto room to a newly decorated clean and pleasant room.  Needless to say my anger subsided and we enjoyed the room.  

The parking situation is sketchy.  I drive a full size pick up truck.  The lot is tiny, hard to navigate and they do not have enough spaces to accommodate all the cars if they are full.  They had me park in the middle of the lot and give them my keys in case anybody needed to get out.  This would have been fine except the clerk working in the morning didn't want to navigate my truck in the lot so they knocked on our door to move the truck.  I was sound asleep after a late night and didn't care for the wake up call.

If you book here you need to make sure to get a newly remodeled room.  I assume they will all be newly remodeled at some point.  I don't think I would stay here again.

 

THIS HOTEL at  Liberty Hotel in Hollywood Kathy Manager & Scot Assitant  WAS BY FAR THE WORST Manger & Assistsnt  at the  HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! My wife and I went to Hollywood for a Valentine's weekend getaway, we booked trough hotels.com. The moment we stepped in I was shocked by what was going on inside, nothing looked liked what was posted on hotels.com. My wife is 7 months pregnant and I was in fear that their construction would harm my wife and put her in danger. We could not sleep all night because we kept coughing and choking on dust and dirt! If your under construction, it is best to finish the construction before you book people in! That hotel is putting innocent lives in danger and should be inspected by the city! That hotel was smelly, dirty, walls ripped off, carpet ripped off, broken door locks, non operating a/c system, and very limited parking in the back of the hotel! DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE UNTIL THE CONSTRUCTION IS DONE!

-by the way.. They charge $10 a day for parking as a guest at their hotel! That's just ridiculous...
