I am in the process of looking for a job. I got a call from the receptionist at Liberty National telling me to come in for a job interview on Friday June 17,2009 at 1:00p.m.

I was excited because it was finally a job that wasnt a retail job. So anyways Friday June 17,2009 came around and so i drove on the other side of town to a nice office building located off the northwest freeway. I thought i was going to be interview by myself with the manager of the company.

Well as soon as i sign all the information that the receptionist gave me, more people starting showing up. Well then they led us to a room with 10 chairs or more in it, and with a projector. So i was like "did i already get hire" this is not a typical interview.

Well the first thing that was put on the screen was THIS IS NOT A CATTLE CALL. I was like ok. Seeming i dont have that much experience in sales based commission. I continued on. The branch manager did the presentation, and all it talked about was money and more money. I was really excited because i have two kids at my home and all the money could do for us. Well then the presentation was over and the SCAM part was in order to continue on, we would have to pay 240.00 for insurance license before we could make money. Im sorry i dont have that much money to be spending it on a license.

So the branch manager asked if any one of us doesnt think this is for them then let me know and you can leave. Out of 10 people i was the only one to leave and i kept thinking to myselves are these people crazy.

IF YOU HAVE TO PUT MONEY INTO A JOB BEFORE YOU START MAKING MONEY THEN ITS A SCAM. STOP RIGHT THERE. DO NOT GO ANY FURTHER.

Licensing Fee- real information

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2012

So you have to get a license to work with any insurance company. This is the typical argument Liberty National uses- "There are barriers to entry to every company, this one so happens to be a license" or "well you have to have a license to work per state and federal guidelines". That's fine, I understand that you need a license to sell insurance, and currently the have a program where you can get a temporary license. The problem isn't that you MUST get a license, the problem is that YOU have to pay for it. I've called up many different insurance companies, companies who are smart and know the importance of a Name Brand (which by the way is marketing/business 101 which liberty fails in every aspect), but these companies I have called all say that they COVER the cost of the license and laughed at the fact that an agent would actually be required to pay for it.

I currently work for Liberty National. I have done ... OK ... and made a little money, nothing extravagant, and it's no where near enough to live off of. (I made $10,000 in 5 months, BEFORE taxes and BEFORE expenses). I work my butt off. I set a MINIMUM of 20 appointments a week. If anyone says you're "LAZY" or "WEAK" don't believe them at all. It's not you who is failing yourself, it's Liberty Nationals business model, poor training, and recruiter style business that is failing you.

GOOD LUCK!

Licensing fees

While Tiffany has most of this right, the Cattle Call, all the talk on the money yyou could earn, the oneshe overlooked area I feel she overlooked is the requirement of a license BEFORE you go to work for them. This is a State AND Federal requirement so you cannot blame the company for their "asking" you to pay out the fees for the License. After all would you let your kids ride the school bus if you know the driver didn't have either the correct license or any at all?

Don't Blame Liberty for this as ALL insurance companies require you to be licensed before they will let you loose on the public. If you ever interview with them just ask how many agents in their office made over $100,000 last year and how many made $75,000+, that will show you how truthful they are.
