We recieved our February 2003 bill form Qwest. I noticed a charge of $33.37 from Liberty Online Services which was being billed by HOLD Billing Services. I did not know what the charge was for so I went to their website (www.hbsweb.com) which apparently doesn't work because it came up webaddress not found.
So I called the number given - a gentleman answered, I asked about the charge - I was told that someone had called and talked to our customer service person and told them that we could get a FREE listing in the yellow pages and that now we were being charged for online services.
I went and got our owner who continued to talked to the gentleman. In the meantime I did a search online for Liberty Online serivices and found this website.
After 20 minutes and three different people, my boss was able to get the charges removed and a comfirmation number from them.
I really think something should be done to this company - if it is illegal why can't the government shut it down?
