LIBERTY TRAVEL Solar Tours Coerced charge after payment 4 days before vacation Flushing, New York

Me and my girlfriend decided on short notice that we wanted to take a vacation to Europe for as cheap as we could.  We went to Liberty Travel in Flushing, NY and spoke with Grace Sanchez, our travel agent.  She put together a package with the departure date leaving 2 weeks later.  We paid for it in full over the phone by credit card according to an email that says the total price "includes all taxes and fees."

In this we purchase air, hotel, and cal.  The next week (less than a week before our departure date) I went to the store to pick up the travel documents. While reviewing the documents, Grace said she just found out there is an additional fee for under 24 year old renting a car. I said to her we had already paid and it was her responsibility to have told us that before and it is not our problem but theirs.

The best Grace and her manager said they could do was to cancel the car rental.  Which was not an option as that was our mode of travel between cities.  I asked for the regional manager's phone number but they said they were only allowed to give me the email address.  I insisted as we were leaving so soon but they said they couldn't do anything.  I signed the papers to get the travel documents as the only option they left me with was canceling the vacation.  I would have canceled right then and there if I was traveling alone. 

I got in contact with Dawn Tuccio, the customer service representative for Liberty Travel, andafter reviewing our case she said that we signed the contract agreeing to pay for it.  After reviewing the document I signed, it does not say anywhere that by signing that I agree to pay any charges. It does show "Drivers age 21-24 are required to pay approximately EUR $19.50 per day, paid locally."  It is separate from the itemized part of the bill which shows that I paid in full and again states "Total price including surcharges, taxes and fees."

It can be clearly seen that Grace Sanchez made an error in finding the total price for our trip.  Though we had already paid, upon discovering the extra charge, she and Liberty Travel have coerced us into paying the additional charge instead of paying for her error.  The refusal they have shown to take responsibility for their mistake and to live up to the fact that their price includes all taxes and fees is a disgrace and poor business practice.
