I purchased a used 2000 Acura TL from Libertyville Acura on 12/12/09 on 12/26/09 the check engine light came on I waited until they opened on Monday 12/28/09 and drove my car to Libertyville Acura to see what the problem was. As soon as I entered I was greeted by a young man and I explained that I just purchased this car 2 weeks ago from the dealership and that my check engine light came on already and he replied let me guess you purchased this car from James W. I was about to question that comment because that was the sales man I purchased the car from, when other customers interrupted I figured whatever was wrong could be fixed so I waited in the waiting room from 8:00am until 11:00am for the service writer to tell me it was a fuel injector and 2 ignition coils quoting me $347 and letting me know he was giving me a better deal since I purchased car two weeks ago I said go ahead with the repairs and continued to sit in the waiting room until 2:00pm when I was told by the service writer and mechanic that there was still a problem and that he could not fix it right away and needed more time I had a ride who I told to leave at 11:OOam so I waited for my boyfriend who picked me up at 5:00pm we had a conflict with the owner Glenn B. who ended up having one of his staff call the police to have meand myboyfriend removed from the premesis.I could not believe the way I was treated after the police wrote the report out we left and I left my car their but came back 1/2 hour later the dealership had pulled the parts out and replaced my old parts I drove in with, now my car did not work at all I had to have it towed the next day to be worked on I was charged $1439.30 for all new fuel injectors and all new ignition coils as well as spark plugs. The car ran for 4 days and now the check engine light is back on car is misfiring still I believe I was sold a bad car and the Libertyville Acura has refused to help me.I can not afford these high repairs I purchased an ACURA because I believed they were reliable and dependable.

Acura/Honda makes great cars - but it is a machine - and will eventually wear out. The car you purchased was a 2000 - that means it is 10 - 11 years old (the first cars in a new model year come out before that year begins - ie you can buy a 2000 in late 1999) Your paperwork should have included an "AS IS" document - which you should have signed acknowledging that you were buying the car without a warranty in its current condition. It really stinks that the car has problems so soon - but you can't expect it to be like new - otherwise it would cost as much as a new TL...

Unless this car was purchased in Ma, AS IS means exactly that. A 9 year old car with no warranties means a 9 year old car with no warranties. You buy a beater, then you got a beater; along with its problems. It does not matter who you purchased from; AS Is means As Is.....
Sorry about the issues but you knew it (NO Warranty) when you purchased the car.
