The letter instructed me to contact your claims agent Barry Smith or Jessica Gordon to the number !866-264-5570 EXT. 3-

stated you are entitled to the sum of $250,000 payable to you by certified check and will be delivered to you by a courier company.

The check of $4900.48 is for the payment of the CANADIAN TAX which is applicable to your winning.

I checked out Life Investors Insurance Co of Cedar Rapids, IA but they are no longer in business - the check was written out on the Bank of New York (Delaware)

The last sentence was DO NOT ACT ON THIS LETTER UNTIL YOU SPEAK WITH YOUR CLAIMS AGENT

There was no return address on the envelope but it did come from Canada.
