I fell for the same scam as a lot of other guys, ordering my "free" 30 day supply of Enzyte after seeing the offer on a television commercial. I provided my credit card information to pay the modest $4.50 S&H charges, figuring it was worth it to see if the product actually worked.
Then, of course, like everyone else, I was shocked to receive a 60 day supply (along with a $69.95 charge to my credit card) a month later. I went back to the website and, sure enough, the "fine print" stated that accepting this offer automatically enrolled me in the "Enzyte One-Year Challenge", wherein the consumer's credit card is automatically debited every two months for a fresh supply of the placebo. I realized I had been had, but I figured it was my own fault for not reading the fine print. I contacted customer service in the hopes that I could return the bottle for a refund, but that was, of course, denied. But this was only the beginning.
After my pleas for a refund fell on deaf ears, I told the customer service representative that they could send me a refund for $69.95 now, or I would remain in the program for the entire year, at which time they would owe me approximately $420. Her response was that the only way I could get a refund would be to remain in the program for the entire year. Determined not to be screwed out of 70 bucks, I told her that I would remain in the program, and that they should be prepared to send me a refund for $420 in a year.
Two months later, I ran out of Enzyte. 2 weeks passed, and I didn't receive my next shipment. I contacted customer service, they said I had cancelled my enrollment in the program. I gave a detailed description of my previous phone conversation, and let them know that I had made it perfectly clear that I intended to stay in the program as long as it took to get a full refund. Their response was that that couldn't be the case, they wouldn't have cancelled my enrollment if I hadn't told them to. They offered to re-enroll me, but my initial payment of $69.95 would be forfeited.
It is obvious this company has no intention of living up to their offer of a full money back guarantee, I went to great lengths to insure that I did whatever was necessary to qualify for my refund. And still I got screwed. I sent a letter to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, but realistically, I don't expect a refund to be forthcoming.
The lesson to be learned here is to always read the fine print. And as long as I'm on that subject, there is some more fine print included in their refund terms that should be noted. The refund policy states "Members of the Enzyte Established Customer Program must return all twelve Enzyte bottles and proof of purchases".
Fact of the matter is, after a year, there won't be twelve bottles to return...they make 6 shipments of a 2 month supply, there are only six bottles at the end of the program. That gives them just one more "out" to deny refund, even if the consumer has lived up to his end of the bargain.
Here's hoping this company will be run out of business soon. If you have been victimized by this company, I encourage you to send a complant to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, as well as the BBB of Greater Cincinnati.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
