Upon moving into a house I was told to buy a water softener. I looked for a softener that didn't require salt. I quickly found LifeSource Water Systems. LifeSource markets its product as a water softener without the use of salts. However, the product does not soften the water as I have ample hardwater spots/stains to prove it. I purchased the product since I was told by the website, literature, and sales rep and his manager that the system would "do the job" and soften the water entering my house.

Numerous e-mails were sent to the company and they haven't responded to me directly. I've opened an investigation with American Express and I've made a complaint with the BBB. LifeSource came back and said that they don't advertise the system as a softener. Please briefly look at the LifeSource's website and see for yourself how the company is misleading consumers. I called upon the 10 year warranty, but LifeSource refuses to comply. Its website claims that the company is ethical and responds quickly to customer issues, I say bull to both statement.

I've made a website documenting my experience with the company and still no direct response. You'd think that a company would care more about its reputation, its commitment to quality and customer care. Caveat emptor.

LifeSource water system mechanism

AUTHOR: Dietmar - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 16, 2018

I am in the same shoes any many.Hard water causing multiple problems.Tried decalcification which is an ion exchanging system that needs to be rejuvinated with salt periodically and flushes salt water out- where to?

This system states it is not  removing Calcium from the water,it is not a de calcifier - it just changes the molecules with"template assisted crystallization" of the hardener molecules.I have researched that topic and could ot find  any documentation that it actually exists or works

I sounds nice, same as space travel thru workm holes.Given the above the company agrees that a chemical analysis of the water will not find a reduction in Calcium etc so its not a de hardener, its simply a magical bottle.I am a P.D.Chemist - among other things

Apparently its not illegal in this country to sell magic :<, some folks call it snake oil

Yes, they claim it eliminates the causes of scale.

To quote them as of 2017/11/06.

"Water Conditioning Unit

The LifeSource ScaleSolver PowerTAC Media utilizes Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) technology. Atomic level Templates on the surface of small specially treated polymer spheres transform dissolved CaCO3 to a crystalline form. The crystals are relatively insoluble, effectively isolating the CaCO3 from the water chemistry and anything the water contacts. "

If that isn't them claiming they are softening the water, what are they saying?

Im surprised to see Lifesource up here on Ripoff report.   Ive never had any problems with LifeSources service.  Theyve always been prompt and up front about their their policies and procedures.  In my memory their website has never said anything about softening water.   Either way Im glad that this issue was resolved.  LifeSource customer service has been a real joy to work with.
