CONSUMERS BEWARE! Please check the BBB complaints currently on this company. The company may be knowingly engaging in deceptive trade practices and knowingly buying contracts from vendors which violate federal laws! These vendors may use "robo-call" solicitations that are a violation of federal law. They also use "telephone spoofing", which is a fake number that comes up on your caller ID. This is also a violation of federal law! If you were solicited by a "robo-call" (which is an automated call, currently starting with "Hello seniors..since you have been recommended by a friend or family member...." which is FRAUD! If youwere solicited for this product/service via a "robo-call" I highly recommend you file a formal complaint with the FTC, attn Mr. Bandy and also with the BBB in New York. You may also contact the state attorney general in your state to file a formal complaint. I have spoken directly with Lifewatch Inc about this situations. I was transferred to a man identified as "Doug" who I was told was a VP at the company. "Doug was both arrogant and rude when I explained the nature of the call and my specific desire to get the information of the vendor for this specific order. He stated they buy contracts from HUNDREDS of vendors, however the consumer is never told that this service is made by a vendor and sold to Lifewatch Inc.! "Doug" also stated that they did not do business with this vendor anymore and would only say the company's names was "Mayhem" and refused to give out any other information, even after he was told this vendor was violating federal law! "Doug" stated that these companies simply close up shop and start under a different name. It is clear to me that Lifewatch does not care who they "buy" these contracts from, as long as they get the customers. I told "Doug" to make sure they cancelled this account, because it was made by the vendor in violation of federal and state laws. He asked if I had returned the unit and I told him no, the unit will e kept as evidence for federal prosecution. "Doug" replied that they would continue to bill me! I told "Doug" he can confirm these allegations directly with the FTC and Mr. Bandy, who is the head of the "robo-call" issues at the FTC. "Doug" replied.."I'm not calling anyone." This indicates to me that Lifewatch Inc. does only disregard these practices, but may be involved in knowingly transacting with vendors, who they know are violating these laws, all in the attempt to gain more customers. As "Doug" blatantly stated, these vendors simply assume another name and continue selling "contracts", and it appears, from many filed complaints at the BBB and my own experience, this may be a long pattern of Lifewatch Inc. to get customers, even if it means solicitations that violate the law! Do not allow them to pressure you into paying for a contract you did not make directly with them...NOT a vendor! The vendor does not disclose that your agreement is being SOLD to a company like Lifewatch, therefore they do NOT have the right to claim said agreement. If they attempt to harass and pressure you, making such claims as they will sent it to collections, take counter action against them and inform all the proper authorities of these practices! YOU HAVE RIGHTS! SO TAKE ACTION!
Investigate ANY company before doing business with them. Check for "red flags" and question and verify what they claim and or state. For example, check the current complaints listed at the BBB for Lifewatch Inc. I had seen several responses to complaints by this company claiming they have been in business for 35 years with an A+ BBB rating. However, look at the BBB report, which states the company has only been an "accredited" business since May 2014, with over 130+ complaints! They make it sound like they have been an "accredited" business with the BBB for a much longer time, but the BBB clearly lists otherwise. You may also Google any lawsuits that may have een filed against a company. Simply type in the company name and add "lawsuit". You may be surprised at what you can find out about a company's business practices. A little research could save you a lot of problems.
