Light It Up Electric; In my initial email and call, I stated my problem was a dryer that did not start. The representative called and spoke to me about the problem and gave me an estimate of $190 for all parts and labor. The price sounded fair, so I agreed to have him come and do the work.
He came out, checked the wires and let me know that my problem appeared to be a "starter knob" He looked up the "starter knob" on the web and suggested I BUY ONE AND INSTALL IT MYSELF. I bought the part for $50, and installed it, but that didn't fix my problem.
So I called him back and tried to find out what else he could do to get my dryer working again, and at that point, he informed me that he "didn't know about appliances", so I needed to call and try to return the part. I called the parts dealer and they wouldn't refund my money or give me a credit to use on another part.
I called the Electrician back and he told me to call an appliance repairman. Electrician also said "He didn't have any other suggestions, since HE DIDN"T KNOW ABOUT APPLIANCES AND MAYBE SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE" ?!?
Then I tried to see if there was anything else he could do to help solve my issue, since I had paid $240 for dryer repair and had to completely start over. He offered to give me 10% off on future electrical work, would not refund the ADDITIONAL $50 I had to pay.
At this time, I neither trust nor recommend this company since they weren't even able to define/communicate what they do and do not know. Their ignorance cost me $50 additional that I should never have had to pay.
I had no problem paying the agreed on price, but I didn't appreciate the "misstatement" about their lack of knowledge regarding appliances, yet still giving "expert" suggestion about a fix. Then leaving me to try to make the repair myself!
And now I still need to purchase a new dryer after all.
