I hired Gary Cornell on 6/23/2014. The original job consisted of repair to the entire house's interior walls. Gary's price seemed reasonable, in fact I increased the amount to be paid to $8000 from $7200 because I knew alot of work was involved. Work was progressing, but Gary wanted to expand the scope of repairs. Which he did, and after a long while, he started complaining and complaining. I agreed and as he had brought in extra help, I agreed to his cost increases. I almost let him go in early August, by now he was moving from wall repair to electrical repair to exterior and garage wiring. Gary never stopped asking for money for "payroll." Revised estimates were coming in, three months have passed and the original spackling repairs are not done. During all this, there were many days when Gary or any of his crew did not show up. They would be in Montauk or Port Wash. Or Kings Park, or whereever. Gary would occasionally appear for more money.
I discharged Gary Cornell when he wrote Iin a text that he was bringing his gun. Surprisingly, Suffolk Police would do nothing about this, which is utterly baffling. I also received an annonomous text stating that I had hired an unlicenced felon. We are to receive a more comprehensive report shortly, but to date we have spent over $22,000,.00, three months later there are still holes in the walls and ceilings, electrical and mechanical jobs not done, but no vague threat of a gun being involved, which is a relief.
Gary works well in a crew under supervision, which is how I met him. As an independent, he is unlicenced, which is a misdemeanor, and you will be at his mercy. I do not in any way except as a crew member recommend Gary Cornell. We have such a mess on our hands, and there's no relief in sight. Luckily I farmed out a staircase job and a garage doors (3) installation. A low initial price from Gary might not end up that way. Stay far away from Gary Cornell in all seriousness. He is not to be trusted.

Gary Cornell has been thrown off several jobs. He has been on probation and I have filed a complaint with Suffolk County Consumer Affairs, Wm. Geiss, for unlicenced electrical repairs. I have spent thousands correcting the problems caused by Gary Cornell. I am glad that this is all coming to Rippoff Report and other avenues. Cornell has engaged in many lies while working for me and now he is engaged in more untruths about me, which will be strenuously defended and answered. Go to the local police if you have concerns about Gary Cornell. I did. Gary Cornell is a windbag and a charlatan and a criminal with a record. He has also been reported to ripoff report since 2002. I am surprised that he would respond to my brief original complaint as he is only sinking his own ship of a fool.
Let me repeat: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THE SERVICES OF GARY CORNELL of Babylon NY. I have had electrical wiring melting, improper circuit loadings and many many problems directly attributable to this character. He has been a registered substance abuser. All details revealed here are fully documentable by myself and authorities. I will if necessary fully defend myself and I also intend to seek monetary damages as a result of work done by Mr. Gary Cornell.
Throughout all that I have sufferred, ask Cornell about the fake double wiring in my garage, NOT ONCE has Cornell called me to make ammends. I am trying in any way I can to prevent further harm to others by filing this and other reports. I intend to prevail in this particular endeavor and it is all going to get very ugly. Note: I currently have three contractors that I am pleased with, performing various jobs, some of them of a type previously performed by Cornell. It takes a particular kind of fool to go against my resolve. That person is Gary Cornell.

The report above is filed by a fraudster and has no validity whatsoever. I not only completed all the work I was contracted for but included dozens of extras costing thousands of dollars at no cost to the home owner. This person wanted more work but didnt want to pay. I have nearly 100 threats on my phone which was sent to my lawyer about this client. He has half a dozen complaints with Suffolk county about other contracters because he doesnt want to pay when the work is compelted. Everytime he asked me to return to the job I did and professionally did the work asked. In the end once all was completed he refused to pay the outstanding $1500 balance. He has done this with multiple contractors. So understaning this person was deadbeat I moved on but after my work was compelted.
He is currently frauding the Long Island railroad and state of New York as he is on disability for an injury which is totally bogus. Myself, my owrkers and other contracters have dozens of pictures and video of him chopping down trees, sledgehammering iron posts, and doing heavy duty labor which he shouldnt be doing due to his alleged disability. I have asked all to forward the media to the Suffolk county asst DA and the LI railroad disabilty board.
I have worked for hundreds of clients in my 25+ years of contracting and have never had a complaint. I have always worked professionally and followed up with customers to make sure all is correct. My reputation as a contractor is spotless and I can provide dozens of referrals. If there is a problem I am perfectly happy to address the issues. Even with the above client I bent over backwards trying to help him by cutting my prices down riduculously so he can get the job done. All of my workers and associates will agree that not only do I go the extra mile but that this person is a bit off center to say the least. Like anyone out there I do not repond well to threats and if I threatened this man with a gun dont you think the police wouldve at least questioned me? Its a bold face lie from a person that is mentally ill and wants work done for free. I tried me best to work with this person but because of their desire to not pay I could not continue to remain on this job. That being said I did complete all the work I was contracted for, I will not and am not obligated to w***e myself for free because a client wants me to. He can say whatever he wants, my lawyer has all the documentation on this individual and those reading this can visit the Suffolk county consumer afairs depaterment and search for complaints by Bob Rocco and see for themselves what type of fraudster this person is.
