We signed a rental agreement with Lillian Jacobs/Blue Skies Executive Housing and she made it sound like such a wonderful place for our family Christmas stay while visitng my father-who has terminal cancer and was given 4 months to live and we spend thousands to bring our family to this home at 1850 Lindy Lane Fallbrook.

My Son in law got special leave from eployment and flew in from Qatar, we had to cover the costs of travel flights for 2 daughters and a son in law (Leave from Army in Texas) just to make it all happen for my dying father. We felt it was all woth it-even the steep rent and deposits Lillian charged us.

HOWEVER-We gave her over $1800 for the 7 day rental + she required over $1200 in misc deposits (pet, cleaning, security). She held off signing our agreement till the day before we left to drive down there.

She wouldn't accept credit card-only wired funds. On arrival we saw that a ceiling over the pool table was falling and discovered a leak was coming from the upstairs bathroom sink. My brother was there with us and he turned it off. The sink had to be turned off during our stay. Soon afterwards some family members started to have coughing spells. We moved the sofabed and discovered large amounts of dust balls, hairballs and dirt under and around all the furniture, lamps, drapes, all around the baseboards and even under the beds upstairs. (We took pictures and mentioned to Lillian) After a thorough cleaning, things were a bit better. Then we discovered the Hot tub/Jacuzzi outside was not working as promised. A handyman came by and commented to my husband that he had been asking Lillian to fix it months ago. My husband tried to help out by troubleshooting it and told Lillian she needed a new motor-the switch and other itmes tested out fine.  Suggested taking it in for a free bench test-but we'd live without it.

Because when we first arrived it appeared only Lillian was the maid service-we made extemsive family efforts to clean the entire place the night and morning before leaving (4 adults-5 hours morning of checkout 12/29/14). We purchased wood floor polish and cleaned all floors, all appliances (Inside and out) stove-microwave-fridge-oven. We even sccrubbed down the rear decking and stairs, We did the laundry & folded towels, all bed linens were washed and as we left my husband pulled the floor mop behind him to make sure no footprints were left behind.

Lillian did not return calls or emails after that morniing and for several days, but when she finally responded to us-said her maid service had to clean appliances and do laundry and clean the floors. We sent her the pictures we took and asked her for all the deposit moneies to be returned. Now she does not answer her phone, emails and we have not received anything back from her.

California rental laws say there is No Such Thing as a non-refundable deposit whether a lease agreement has been signed with that included or not-So any deductiuons by the property landlord must be documented as damage not wear and tear or nominal cleaning, and if anything IS deducted documented expenses provided and all deposits must be returned within 3 weeks of vacating by the renter.

TUbman's were fully refunded their required $700 security deposit and an additional $100 was given out of courtesy. They were sent copy of the check deposited. Also Mr. Tubman agreed to the $800 as final payment in a email to me. Any additional fees is not warrented as per lease.

The home was in professional clean order at arrival on 12/21/2014

Post departure they did not leave home in turn key condition as when they arrived a mandatory clean was done.

The nonrefundable fee required for cleaning was on their lease and they initialed the requirement when they signed the lease.

They reframed to make public and to this site they received a $300 discount on advertised rental rate, their lodging tax was waived ($180 savings)and their security deposit was reduced to $700(see ad below).  They were granted to have 4 more persons stay than the required 6 as advertised at no extra charge. Also there was a pet policy advertised with required non- refundable pet fee and 14lb pet limit , the dogs turned out to be in excess of the requirement (larger than 45 lbs each), which post departure dog odor and excess dog hair clean up throughout the home and exterior poop dog cleanup was needed, the fees covered the cleaning cost.

The leak was stopped and the repair of the ceiling was postponed per their request to not interfer with their enjoyment of the holiday, the contractor was rescheduled post their departure.

And the last fact, The Tubmans sent during their stay a gracious handwritten holiday card wishing me the blessings and the best for the season (copies can be provided). Not the action expected if the home and service was not worthy.

Home was extremely dirty. Lots of dog hair in all rooms, all wood/tile floors needed to mopped twice due to several stains throughout. Laundry was not finished, linens needed to be rewashed due to stains , beds in all bedrooms were  unmade. Bathrooms showed signs of human feces. Kitchen oven was left with food stains, stains on tile, dust throughout counters and floors. I saw carpet cleaner come remove a large amount of dog hair and use freshener to improve lingering dog odor.

It should be noted our crew cleaned prior to tenant arrival on 12/21/2014 and home was turn key ready, meaning home is completely cleaned inside and out, all linens are folded and beds made. I offer a guaranteed to return if cleaning is unsatisfactory and Ms. Jacobs called me on 12/21/2014 from the lyndy home to inform me the daughter and her children and Mrs. Tubman arrived late on 12/21/2014 after 6:30. Ms. Jacobs waited to greet them and they were grateful for the use of the beautiful home for the holidays and pleased with the condition of the home. I did not return since I was informed on 12/21/2014 home was acceptable by Mrs. Tubman.
