I'm a subcontracting video editor for a MJS STUDIOS / LINDELLE STUDIOS and was suppose to receive my paycheck on Dec. 31, 2008 (pay day is 15th and 30th of each month) for wedding videos I've edited and finished for MJS. This work was finished over a month ago and was signed off as received.

Pay date for these edited DVD's was to be Dec.31st, 2008. As of the post (Jan,13th 2009)
I still have not received Payment in the mail as I usually do. I've called many times and was told "It was mailed and you just have to wait for it". Well, It's been two weeks now and still NO PAY!

I've called many times, sometimes more then once in a day, have left messages but never get a return phone call. And when I do get some one on the phone they keep telling me the same thing "It was mailed, Wait". I live less then 1 1/2 miles from MJS and NOTHING takes two weeks to mail, especially when you live this close.

Today I spoke with some one again and I requested for MJS to cut me another check, I was told they would but would CHARGE ME $35.00 to do so.!!! What is that all about. I've waited for them for two weeks to get paid and didn't and now they want me to pay them $35.00 for them to cancel their check (which they say they mailed to me but I never received, 2 WEEKS?).

Time are tough right now and I'm trying to do all I can to make it through, but this kind of business is wrong. At this point I've contacted a lawyer will be following his advise to "Try to recover from the contractor (MJS) that hired you. Sue in small claims court and report the matter to the state labor department. I guess I'm being forced to to so.

If this is the way they treat people them maybe I should look else ware for a second income.

Beware All.

The previous post submitted was NOT entirely true. And was submitted by another individual in whom I confided in on the above matter, not by myself. This person thought they were doing me a great justice but instead did not help at all.

The fact that IS TRUE is that "YES" my check was never received in the mail and "YES", I was told there would be a $35.00 charge to cut a new check for me. But the rest of the report was not quite as stated and the person who posted the post totally MISUNDERSTOOD the FULL situation.

Here are the complete details:
-Again, as stated above, there was a problem receiving my check via the mail BUT, there was also the Holidays (New Years to be exact), that I'm sure delayed the US Post office beyond their normal everyday delay. Anyone who's used the US Post knows that they are ALWAYS taking forever to deliver mail and that on more times then usual it takes longer then it should.

-I have been in contact with MJS / Lindell regarding this issue and again "YES" have left messages but, most of the messages I left on voice mail to MJS were after business hours where they could NOT have responded to them right away. However...
I have always had GREAT communication with them and they were ALWAYS pleasant and very help. I never felt ignored.

-The charge of $35.00 to cut a new payroll check for me, was MY DECISION NOT MJS / LINDELL's to have done because, I WAS NOT WILLING to wait on the Postal Service to see if the lost the check or not.

In fact, the people at MJS / Lindell have been very helpful in resolving this issue and have been a pleasure to work for with this issue being the only one I've experience in the year I've been working for them.

ALL this said, I would like to APOLOGIZE to MJS and Lindell Studios on the premature post which was left, and on the persons behalf who thought they were trying to help me out by posting this premature / not all the facts post.

MJS / Lindell Studio has always been a great company to work for, and I hope after all this I can still proceed to work for them.
