I purchased this webcam and hooked to a Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Router (WRT400N) to monitor, while away from home. I ran through the setup and the cam seemed to work fine, while accessing it via my wireless network. Once away from home, I tried to access the webcam using it's IP address with broadband connection. This is where my problem begins and it has never been resolved.
I contact Linksys by Cisco support online and they said that I would have to be home, in order to access the webcam locally to setup for web access. Once home, I contacted support and they gave me the round-around never able to solve what would seem to be a simple issue. My Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Router sees the webcam, no problem, how hard could this be? NOT!!!
The access utility that ships with the webcam is a joke! It's a rinky-dink app that looks like it's from the DOS era. Turns out, the way I can access the webcam is via my local wireless network. Forget remote web access. Lot good this does me when I'm away.
I spent two hours with their online support, changing numerous settings, re-installing, and with obvious language barriers. the rude support person told be to get someone who knew more about networks. Hey dude, I was certified with wireless networks and did successfully setup my own.
More on the webcam, the motion detection is lousy, slow, and misses what suppose to be recorded. I would not recommend this webcam, until that improve the software and support.

Dol don't feel bad.
I think the technology is still in its infancy...
I dont know why these people feel hell bent to bring stuff online, for sale to the public like that hideous VISTA program OS FROM HELL. IT IS SORRY! XP is way better and I hear that WHEN WINDOWS 7 COMES OUT WE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE ALL OF OUR EXISTING COMPUTERS BECAUSE IT WILL BE TOO FAST FOR THEM TO RUN IT.
IT COSTS MONEY TO REPLACE MY COMPUTERS!
WHAT SORT OF ISOLATION FROM THE REAL WORLD DO THESE MICROSOFT AND R & D PEOPLE IN GENERAL LIVE IN.
WHAT PART OF REAL WORLD SMALL BUSINESS AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION ECONOMICS AND PRIVATE OWNERSHIP DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND.
NOT EVERYBODY HAS THE MONEY TO CHANGE OUT ALL OF THEIR HARDWARE EVERY TIME BILL GATES SAYS SHUFFLE TO THE LEFT OR SHUFFLE TO THE RIGHT.
