BUYERS and BREEDER BEWARE!

Guess how surprised and doubtful I was while speaking long distance to a friend early yesturday morning when she suddenly stopped mid-sentence and said, "There is your puppy's picture"! I said, you mean a dog that looks like mine and her reply was, "No its your puppy". Thinking she had made a mistake I asked for the website she was on. Bulldogbreeds.com was her reply. I began searching under the English Bulldog breeder's listings and the 13th listing down BAM! Like a slap in the face there it was. It was a photo I had taken about 3 months ago of our female puppy and had posted on our website.

I was stunned then angry. This is the type of unscrupulous behavior that gives 'breeders' a bad name. My first response was to reply to the ad and ask her why my puppy's photo was on her advertisement and to kindly remove it. I didn't specify which was mine. When my sister who was the actual breeder(whom I purchased this puppy from) found out later that day she called one of the several phone numbers listed. See Below:

An answering machine picked up stating that all the puppies where available and she would return our call within the hour. My sister at that point left the message that she had exactly 60 mins to remove the picture of her dog or she would hear from her attorney. Within the hour the full ad was gone which lead me to believe she didn't know which photo we were speaking of.

I had also contacted bulldogbreeds.com and filled them in on what was going on and gave our website address with the multiple photos of this puppy and the next day(today) recieved a swift response and link to a rip-off report here and was told her ad was removed.

In the meantime, my friend had left a message on Robin's machine saying she was interested in the puppy on her advertisement. Robin called late that afternoon and left a message on my friend's machine saying that was a male puppy and it just had a deposit put on it but she had several others from that litter. Can you believe the audacity of this woman?

BUYERS BEWARE! It is best to NEVER purchase a puppy off the internet and RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH the BREED. Never purchase from a puppymill, petshop or broker. If they have more than one litter available or sell multiple breeds bells should sound. Check with your vet, breeder clubs and other owners for a responsible breeder. If you must purchase from the internet ask for a photo of the puppy with your name and a item you choose in the picture with it (example: I want a picture of the pup in the bathtub with a spoon). Never send cash or wire transfer. Know your state's PUPPY LEMON LAWS. Check with the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division in your state. Get a WRITTEN HEALTH GUARANTEE from the breeder along with a HEALTH CERTIFICATE from a licensened veterinarian. Always google the breeder's name and phone number/s.
