Living Scriptures Ripped off by a "contract" I was not told the details about Palmyra, NY Nationwide

This is such a scam. A salesperson approached us on the street in Palmyra, NY offering a free video with membership to Living Scriptures. I listened to his spiel and had been interested in getting scriptural videos. So I signed up and he gave me a free video at the time as well as another "gift" (Book of Mormon coloring books).

Two weeks later, I received a shipment of about 10 other "free" items that I did not know I was getting and an invoice saying they were free but valued over some insane amount of money (thousands of dollars). We have been receiving the DVDs monthly for almost 2 years paying over $35 per month (auto payment) and honestly do not even watch the videos. The animation is of HORRIBLE quality and the audio is mid-1980s sound quality.

SO I decided to cancel our membership feeling we had given it a try, no big deal. Ont he call, I was informed that to cancel my membership I had to pay a cancellation fee of ALMOST $400  since I had received all the free products (that are still in the shrink wrap!!) and had signed a contract. NEWS TO ME!! I offered to send back the free gifts but that is not allowed. SO I am struck getting these crappy DVDs and paying for over 3 more years. There is NO WAY OUT, I was told. I feel like I have been swindled and am very unhappy.
